Obligatory Greeting Thread

Post by Kanji »

Hey gang,

New person here, just picked up the BASH system from my local game store and I must say I'm really impressed by it. I'm a long time gamer and a long time comic book geek. So finding something that's simple like this that mixes two of my major fancies is a bit of a treasure trove.

I'm pretty new to this system in particular so I'm gonna be looking around and asking questions. But I have played bunches of Pen and Paper games, some in the realm of Super Heroes like Mutants and Masterminds, Champions, and Heroes Unlimited.

Lets see... What else...

Oh, a little about myself. As said I'm a huge comic geek, currently my favorite pull is the Hawkeye and Mockingbird series that has been going on since the start of Heroic Age. I've always had a thing for Street Level characters as well as Spy Games. Plus I remember being a big fan of West Coast Avengers so its pretty awesome for me to see those two back together. I'm also a huge fan of Teen teams of heroes, I loved the first two runs of Runaways, and Teen Titans all the way through the 90s.

Its my dream to be a comic book writer in the ilk of Gaiman or Moore (Heck I'd even accept being a Bendis or Liefeld if I had the opportunity to write for someone.) I'm an amateur writer and a just above crappy artist, trying to get more experience with school and practice.

So anyway thought I would just say hi!

Hi Kanji!

Welcome! I loved the early years of the Runaways! Very unique spin on teen supers. And I'm sure Chris will be glad to hear that you found a copy of BASH in your local game store. Very impressive.

Welcome. I am pretty new here as well and the community has been very cool. As far as teen heroes one of my favorites of that genre was "The New Warriors". I just loved Speedball. Don't be afraid to ask questions and make sure to check out the eratta thread.

Yeah. I know the owner of that store (we went to different high schools in the same town) and they came by for a brief visit on their way to see some relatives in the Bay Area. While they were here Sean picked up some books, which I happily signed.
