"No telling," Jason replies, "I'm sure Fenris will fill us in later. For now get over here and we'll get out of here. You're right, Nycto can get out whenever he wants."

Javier wrote:He turns to regard Fenris. "What happened to you anyways, man? We'd dropped you off at the diner. Did they pull some 'No Pets Allowed' s**t or something and kick you out?"
"Something like that." Fenris laughs a little. "I got my meal first at least. Afterwards, I went to double-check Mama B's but didn't find anything. That's when I say Nycto fighting a guy who ended blowing himself up. Evidently, that guy is a Nova who can self-explode and live. He turned himself into the cops over there in the big group, but the one cop who saw what he could do opened his chest cavity up with a shotgun. Nycto is trying to support the cop who killed the Nova. That's all I got in the little bit I observed. Maybe the Nova had something to do with the plane crash, too?"

"Jee-zus!" Javier exclaims. "Man, they're like crawling out of the woodwork! We almost crashed into some guy looking like a walking rockpile on the way here. It crawled out of the ground in the middle of the street and started stomping around the parking lot of a Wal-mart."

He shakes his head gloomily. "This is just nuts. No wonder people're freakin' scared. How can we fight that?"

Your attempts to intimidate the captain only seem to infuriate him more. For a moment you see the thought cross his mind, "I wonder what'll happen if I shoot the *?" His years of experience stay his hand, though the gun is still pointed (uselessly) at your chest.

"Um, captain, sir, I don't think we can arrest this guy," the officer stammers as he recovers his cuffs from off the ground. You hear the other cop behind you take a few steps back.

Half growling, Captain Mitchell orders his men to put the cuffed cop in a car and take him to the station. "I figure I can't do a helluva lot if you choose to come along, but understand, if I get the chance, your a** is going down, hard. As to him, a judge or a jury can decide when and by whom the law gets crapped on, I won't."

With that he holsters his gun as he directs the dozen cops to get "murderer" into a patrol car and out of the area.

If anyone chooses to intervene, say so. Otherwise half the officers leave, while the other half try to secure the area and wrap up the crime scene. After that, you all can decide what your novas will do with the remainder of the night (only a few hours left) and over the course of the next few days.

"Walking rockpile? What happened? Did it destroy the Wal-Mart? Was it protesting Wal-Mart's ability to destroy the small business man and ruining Main Street's economy." Fenris questions oddly.

"Then we understand each other." says Nycto to the captain.
He picks a piece of paper and writes his Burner phone number twice, and gives one of them to the "murderer" cop and other to the wide eyed sargeant saying "If you have a situation that needs a Nova, I'll help if I can."

OOC:
Nycto won't "interfere" with the law here. He really (at least partially) understands the captain (due to his military years).
If the cops want his testemony he'll give them, and the phone number for contact (even following them to the station).
If not he'll try to help the cop in other ways.

When that is up he'll sleep a few hours in total darkness, and think on what he could've done differently.

Anyway he'll search Novatube for videos of the plane crash, of his fight with al'Malik, and related business to see if he can catch anything that can help the cop.

Of course if the other heroes call him he might reunite with them now (if he isn't needed in the police station)

Realizing the futility of taking you downtown for your statement, he directs an officer to do so at the scene. I'll wait to hear what the others want to do before I move things forward.

"What's up?"
Harrison leant against the car, lights a ciggy.
(Fenris telling his story again would be fairly pontless. So I'll admit either Jason told him or he heard Fenris.)
"So what's next? A french maidbot attacking KFC? Horizon City became quite scenic.... "
He takes a short drag at his cigarette
"There's nothing left to do. We can't patrol waiting for another 'so-called super villain' to show up.
Tonight we could go back to our lives, stay sharp and wait for the Doorman sign. "

"I'm down with that," agrees Javier with a jaw-cracking yawn.

He nods to Fenris. "Yo, Lobo, you still need a ride?"

Javier will gladly ferry the rest of the group to their destinations then head over to his cousin to drop off the car and crash on the couch.

"Yes," Fenris says. Seeing how everyone is going to their respective homes, Fenris asks Javier to drop him off several blocks away from Sarah's Diner.

Ok, looks like we can wrap up Ch2. I'm going to advance the game by three days in the next couple of days. If there's something that your character wants to do in the meantime, post it here or pm me if you want to keep it private, and I'll respond as necessary. Expect the novas to start getting busy!

Fenris will prowl around Horizon City getting to know all the neighborhoods and keeping a stealthy profile. He'll try to learn more about Mama B's and the plane crash by observation.

He'll get to know the homeless groups and alternate between homeless shelters and Sarah's Diner. He'll get to know Sarah better if she wants as long as he doesn't scare away any clientile, so he potentially arrives at odd hours.
