The last descriptive paragraph : "Each successive use of Copycat in a scene reduces your level in Copycat by 2. "

the example at the end supports this.

The more I read the rule, the less certain I am of how it is supposed to work. It clearly states the 2 for 1 cost, but that one goofy sentence thrown in makes it possible to interpret the last example in a completely different way, but only the last example.

I'll post the question to Chris and see what's what.

Everyone: Unfortunately I won't have as much time as I thought tonight, so I'm going to forgo responding to your actions until I get back Saturday night or Sunday morning. If by chance I get to a computer tomorrow I'll post.

Okay, I will wait Chris' answer then, although in the example you stated that character in the same scene used 6pts of copy cat to gain:

3pts super speed (after which she had 4pts of copy cat)
2pts special attack (after which she had 2pts of copy cat)
1pt armor (after which she had no pts of copy cat)

Yah that's what gave me pause. I assumed when I read that the character first copied super speed in one scene. In the next scene, when the copied power was gone, she copied the next two powers.

Rereading it, it could mean she had ALL the powers going at once, in which case it is a flat 2pts per power.

I'm not trying to be a * about it, I just want to get it right.

Cool, I think that's settled and I was absolutely wrong! Sorry to have taken so much time and energy trying to figure out this * power, but the examples and wording suck IMO.

Once again, sorry Boost for all the headaches.

It's fine, it is one of the more difficultly worded powers in the book. Glad it's cleared up now.

Boost and Nestor: I don't have my books, were you able to encircle him in the firewall between the two of you?
the power has the concentration limitation, which means Nestor can't do it until after the rock guy, and since I used my turn getting the power, I wont be able to reinforce it till my next turn. In order for Nestor to do it, he has to make a mind contest against the monsters defense, as per the wording of the force field power, when he gets his turn.

Which, with a Mind of 1, puts it in the "snowball's chance in *" category. :P

We could still use the combined power to protect the building, or innocents.

Yeah, no offense but is there some specific plot reason for having PC action be offstage?

I understand that our characters would not be aware of what's happening to their comrades in other locations but part of the fun of these games, at least for me, is to witness cool roleplaying and action, even if I'm not involved in it. :-)
