Hi all,
I'm home and have the demo server up, if anyone wants to pop in. If I don't greet you right away, it may mean I'm just momentarily away from my computer; feel free to poke around and I should be back shortly.
Bashman, if you have time to pop in, I can show you how to set up the tokens. It is pretty straight-forward.
Crose, yes, it's been added to the Frameworks forum on the MapTools site.
And, ideally, I'd prefer if someone else ran a game... I'm new to BASH, and I'd love to see how someone else runs it. But once I get more comfortable, I will probably start up a game at some point, or at least run a few one-shots if not an on-going campaign.

Okay, I've uploaded version 1.02, with the following changes:
* Fixed a bug with negative multiplier modifiers.
* Cleaned up dialog boxes, setting more appropriate sizes, removing the close button, etc.
* Added some instructions about pre-defined labels to the roll editor dialog.
* Added the ability for the user to designate tokens that should have their own permanent character sheet frame, rather than using just the currently selected token frame. This is controlled by a link in the Token Management section at the bottom of the character sheet.

Thanks, AslanC. I think I'm close to the end of my initial feature "wish list", and then we'll see what crops up during use for the next few weeks.
Demo server is up for a while, if anyone wants to pop in and take a look around. As before, if I don't greet you it might be that I'm temporarily AFK or distracted. Feel free to poke around, use / edit / add any tokens you want, etc.

Well, played all afternoon and evening, with no problems. We did identify a few minor things I'd like to add, which I'll try to get to tomorrow.
I have installed MapTools on a computer in my basement, which I'll just leave up (see earlier in the thread for server name, etc.), so people can pop in to see it whenever. If the only one listed in the Connections window is "Automated Server" then I'm not actually there.
If you do pop in, feel free to add or edit tokens, etc. There are currently three maps, but one is just for the library tokens. The second is a map for testing line of sight. It has a small maze, with a bunch of minion drones hidden around. You can move a player token through the maze and see how the minion drones show up or disappear based on your token's line of sight. The third map is a simple city street scene, which you can use to stage a test fight or whatever. I did include some line-of-sight barriers around the walls of buildings. This should work well for ground-level characters, but be aware that MapTools line-of-sight code isn't aware of altitude, so if you move a token onto a roof, it will be invisible to other tokens who are not on the roof (even if you know they are flying and should be able to see it).
If you don't know MapTools, you can switch between the maps by using the blue circle button in the top right corner of the screen (I think it is supposed to be a dice, but some people think it looks like a globe). And you can generally zoom in and out using the scroll wheel on your mouse, or the + and - keys. To pan side to side, right click and drag.
If anyone has any questions, please post them here. If I know that I will be on and can give someone a tour, I'll post it here, but feel free to connect and play around even if I'm not there.

This is so cool, Lindharin. I'm very interested, but quite frankly I don't know where to begin. As I've indicated elsewhere, all of this is just above my technology ceiling. I'm not giving up, though. I'll take a look at the documentation and try to figure it out. It'll just take me awhile. I should get the hang of it once I figure out the basics.Lindharin wrote:Good morning, everyone. I'll be doing some work in MapTools adding a few new featues, so I should be connected to the server for a while. If anyone wants to stop by, please feel free!
Best,

Hi Dragonfly,
I'd be happy to walk you through it. If you feel uncomfortable with the technology, then it might be easier to have a guide instead of just trying to read documentation (especially in an open source product, although MapTools is much better documented than most).
If you are available today, let me know and I'll walk you through it. If you'd rather do it another time, just let me know what works for you and let's see if we can set up a time.

That would be great! I appreciate it! I'm going to go watch _How to Train a Dragon_ with my wife and little ones in just a few minutes, but I might be available for a talk-through later tonight or tomorrow evening (if weekdays work for you).
How would we communicate? Via cell phone? Online somehow? Let me know.
Best,
Dragonfly

Hi Dragonfly,
Let's start with a web conference. I've set up an account with DimDim, a site that lets me run a free web conference including sending out my screen in realtime so you can see what I am doing, then do it yourself on your computer. And all you need is a web broser. It also includes a text chat, and of course once you have MapTools installed it will have text chat too.
I should be around this evening, and can be tomorrow evening too. If you want to set a specific time, let me know what works for you (I'm in the EDT time zone). Or feel free to just drop into the web conference; if I'm here it will be up and available for you, if I'm not here, it won't.
To connect to the web conference, just go to:

If I don't greet you right away, I might just be away from my computer momentarily, or have a different window open. I haven't used this before, so I'm not sure if it will play a noise or something when you connect.
