The two of them, along with their nemesis Hawk Moth, possess what are called Miraculouses, magical pieces of jewelry that are each linked to a Kwami, a sort of guardian spirit/animal totem that can merge with the owner of the Miraculous, granting them super powers. (When not merged, the Kwami appear as small characters with oversized heads who can fly and pass through solid objects. Below is Tikki, the Ladybug Kwami, who normally travels around in Marinette's handbag.)
The basic format of the show is that Hawk Moth empowers a super villain of the week, whom Ladybug and Cat Noir must defeat. Each super villain has an item of power of some kind, and if this item is taken from them and destroyed, it turns them back to normal. Only Ladybug has the power to cleanse the evil energy and undo whatever damage the villain caused (up to and including magically restoring entire destroyed buildings).
Both Ladybug and Cat Noir have a one-shot power, with Ladybug's being to conjure some mundane item that she can use in conjunction with her surroundings to disarm the villain, usually by some highly improbable, acrobatic called shot.
So anyhow, I've created stats for Ladybug, and hopefully I can add more to this thread over time.
