Confusion Power

Hi everyone,

question :

I don't know if I can quote some portion of the core book... anyway (in doubt I won't) take the sentence on page 48 under "Confusion" that begin with "Instead of targeting an individual......one leaves the affected area"

So...
1) If I take confusion to affect everyone that want to attack me... do I need to make a Mind Check vs Mind or it is automatic ?
Lasts for 3 pages, so the 4th page people can attack me without being confused ? And can he make a Mind Check anyway to overcome the power or he needs to wait 3 pages ?
2) If I take a lingering Area of Effect... it lasts 3 page or when targets leave area whatever comes first ?
So 4th page there is no penalty ?
3) Can I take extended duration to make it last 3 minutes instead of 3 pages ?
4) a Target of a NORMAL Confusion (so without "personal" or "lingering area") can try to make the Mind Check FREELY in their panel (so he can also attack) or if he makes the Mind Check he forfaits the attack ?

1. You need to make a Mind Check UNLESS it is an Area effect (like filling an area with fog or something). So if it is your personal bad luck field or you become blurry, etc, the person still gets a Mind Check each page.

2. The area effect lasts 3 pages. Anybody in the AOE is affected while they are in it, and not effected as soon as they leave. I would however add a caveat that you cannot stand on one side of the fog bank and shoot at someone on the other side unimpeded; you still cannot see through it.

3. Yes. However then I would definitely allow people checks to overcome the effects over time.

4. I would say make the Mind Check at the END of your Panel. So it will always affect a target for at least 1 Panel if the initial Mind check succeeds.

Reply to question 1) Yes but to "Hit" (and so confuse him) do I need to make the initial test for everyone that is attacking me or is automatic and applies to everyone that is attacking me ? (in case of "personal")

Make one Mind check and they all make a Mental Defense against it.
