Iron Raven and Hauptmann Zero are great character ideas. I like the crude and straight-forward design of the joints in their suits, which really helps to convey the more primitive, diesel-era tech they are based upon.

Thanks Mr. Jupiter; that was exactly what I was going for when I had them originally done, Zero was much like he is now, while Raven wasn't fully armored. I thought it would be better to put him all in armor given his background, and I think it came out great. By comparison, here is what they originally looked like:

These were on Champions Character sheets, so the artist could only do so much with the poses. Now they get to be revealed in all their glory.

Here's a new one from Ade Smith. An old character of mine named Necromancer. This is not the final version (he made a minor change for me), but still good enough to share:

I like the originals. Zero and Raven still look cool. The Necromancer looks fantastic!

My friend Curt (who drew the original Zero & Raven, and a lot more) was a great GM. Between stuff he gave me (the original take on Inquisitor that Anthony Green did was based on one of his concepts) and his drawing stuff I came up with, I have a lot of old characters to re-imagine now. I've showed him some of the new art based on his old work, and he keeps telling me how much he loves the stuff.

A new one from Ade Smith. This is Sirocco, a speedster from the Middle East who has sand swirling around him and in his wake as he runs.

A new one from Anthony Green. As most of you know, I have a delayed project in the works called The Dirty Dozen, featuring 12 Golden Age comic villains now in the Public Domain. I had clip art for all of them, but as time has gone by, some of the pieces feel weaker than the others. Since I have a bit of funding to get some new art, I decided to get some new pieces based on some of the characters. I sent 2 to Anthony, and this is an early version of the first piece he did for the character Baroness Blood. She's a * agent and pilot, and she's very handy with a whip:

Baroness Blood looks perfect for a golden era villain. The helmet on Sirocco is a great idea for protection from the sandblast kick-up he creates when retracing his own trail.

As an actual character from the comics of the time, I'd hope she looks perfect for that era :P

Sirocco's entire costume is based on actual racing gear. I thought it would be a nice touch to have his outfit based on real gear racers wear.

Another Golden Age comics character. This is the hero Skyman, and his aircraft known as The Wing. This was done by Peter Frain, who did some art for the rpg Triumphant! by Simon Washburne (Barbarians of Lemuria, Supers!)

I love the 30's era stylings of Skyman and his Wing aircraft. These pieces look fantastic.

Thanks guys. Here's another golden age comicbook hero, Man of War. This one is by Richard Spake. Most adaptions in comics have his top in red, but on the public domain supers site, I saw his top in blue. So I had Richard go with that, and added in elements of the old Marvel hero The Patriot. I think it came out pretty good (this is a low res version I made, so ignore the pixelation. The one he sent is much crisper):

I like the blue top, red pants version. What's the blue flame stuff on the sword (some kind of cold-burn)?
