LOL..... No worries Saker - we are staying with The Defenders (at least through the first "Story Arc". After that, if folks want to continue with them - we will! If folks would wanna try some NEXTWAVE action (HEY!! in the same world, some style - just switching TEAMS!! and of course, ramping up the fun being a bit more superhero satire/parody )

And YES, Slapstick!! LOL

HEY!

Looks like we will be having a late arrival to the team!
I am helping with the stat build (and will show it here again) for a new player wishing to come in and play....

THE SILVER SURFER

a classic "DEFENDER" and a great powerful addition to the team. I actually LOVE that we'll have some major "power level" diversity with Strange and Surfer on one end and Power Man at the other with Valkyrie near the middle!
I can't wait to *test* the Hero Die balancing mechanic more.

Anyway...
I'll be building up a Surfer for the other player to look at, I'm directing him here to get rolling soon. I'm still shooting to get the first issue's post for Monday, but it may jump back in the week depending.

I would love to play, but doubt I'd have the time. What's great about The Defenders is that there are so many characters to choose from, considering how many there were in the team after that documentary!

Rock on DEFENDERS!!

Couple things...

#1. I'm going to try to stat up a version of Silver Surfer for archivis to look at and update to play. Everyone feel free to offer suggestions.

#2. I'm going to try to get the first Issue "forword" up today (Monday) or early this week.

#3. I begin my first shifts at a new job tomorrow (Tuesday). So please bare with me this week as I learn how my work schedule and such goes.

#4. all that said, I'm going to specifically take time to (what I call) "KICK THIS PIG" [Vermont phrase]

REMINDER:
Consider what your PC-Hero would be "doing" as the forword begins... Because as is traditional with THE DEFENDERS stories, you "Earth's Last Defense" will be *whisked* away to begin the Story ARC.
Consider THIS:
Imagine your opening scene as the first scene in our comic book (for fun try through in and use comic book terms in descriptions - such as "panels, page terns, splash pages, etc...")....
Imagine your opening scene as if YOU are the *star* in an ACTION-MOVIE (you are one of the stars in our story afterall!)...
So when you describe your opening do a few things:

a. describe your PC-Hero, since we generally know the "look" of the hero - describe costume and look but moreso describe the "style" or feeling or personality the hero is feeling at the time.

b. describe any role-play scene or action scene as it opens (you make up whatever you want, and I'll take it and RUN! to open)...

c. But give solid fun descriptions overall. Any opening action/dialogue your PC-Hero is up to ... Most of all consider that THIS is YOUR "first scene" in a big action movie (or new comic series).... Think Tarrintio KEWL, Think Michael Bay BOOM!, Thing epic fun "wide-screen" that Ellis and Hitch made awesome in the Authority and Ultimates comics.
OR... if you're more into a lower street level dude, or want more of a creepy style....
The idea is to SHOW us your style and themes you'd like to have going once the group gets together (which would be shortly in as I'm thinking).

So anyway.
Consider.
I'll set the "scene" of the comic opening then, open it up to YOUR individual descriptions. THEN "whisked away" in DEFENDER tradition!!!

HOORAH!!
Fun fun fun.
Anyone have any thoughts or questions, etc...

That's the spirit!!

I just got another call from another employer this morning! It seems like (in a SUPER-GOOD way) that when it rains it pours. So starting thread TBD ... but absolutely not pushed to the back-burner. It'll get up sometime THIS week.

If anyone wants to help by updating stats, suggesting ideas based on the character stats we have, or doing up a first version of Silver Surfer (before I get to him). GO FOR IT!

Also - if anyone has any "how are we gonna DO this" or other rule questions. Please speak up.

Just have it ready. With just starting the new job I'm up to my ears, but looking to get time between Sat-Mon. I'm excited to get going!

I'll be doing a first version of the Surfer for stats. And at the same time posting up an opening scene to our new campaign! We can get Surfer's stats squared as we get rolling.
