If you hover your mouse above the button that says "BASH" before posting, it will explain the system. In between the BASH! brackets, you list three numbers, seperated by commas. The first is your multiplier, the second is your dice bonus/penalty, and the third is a result bonus/penalty.

So if I were doing (2d6+2)x3+10 for a roll, I would write [ BASH]3, 2, 10[/ BASH]. Of course, I would not put the space before the word BASH! if I wanted the text to parse properly.

Okay it looks like US made it. Of course, if the Narrator wanted to assess additional penalty due to my lack of familiarity with various acronyms, slang, modern weaponry, etc, that would be understandable. With a a Minor Hindrance, that would lower the total to a 16, and a Major Hindrance would lower it to a 12.

I think LP has to roll a 1d6, rather than 2d6 (skill defaulting). How do I go about that?

Hokay, thanks for the rolls. Here are the tidbits that can be gleaned:

Difficulty 10 - the German forces seem reasonably few. it's not like there are hundreds or thousands of soldiers running around.
Difficulty 20 - there seems to be a lack of heavy equipment. No conventional armor, artillery, trucks, half-tracks.
Difficulty 30 - in the background of one of the pictures, hard to see, blurry but there -- there appears to be a large aircraft landed in the background. A flying wing design, a big one.

Feel free to comment on this stuff in-character.

I'll presume that LP spends some time looking at the ceiling, the floor, the walls, etc. Anything but the dossiers!

I don’t know if this will cause any further elaboration upon the PM you sent.

PS. I have just looked at some of his posts and please don’t anyone take any offence to anything old Jack says, it’s just his current negative vibe at the moment, a fubar mission, lost some good buddies, relationship issues, he’s just been turned into a freak (as he sees it, what would mum and dad say!!!) and he is worried he’s going to turn into a super *.

Folks -- it's just a style thing so it's not a big deal, but please try to keep your OOC comments out of the IC thread. Just post here instead if you'd be so kind. Call me crazy, but I like to keep the story thread free of OOC, dice-rolling, etc.

Speaking of that and whether LP has the ears of a hawk, I'm happy to rule it either way based on what you players want. Rules question: if we were to make Lady Paramount roll to see if she overheard, what would she be rolling off of? Mind? A skill?

bigsteveuk, will respond to your PM later on.

Notice things is a Mind check.

Can we also settle on a format for dialogue and thoughts? There's quotes, italics, quotes with italics and bold, etc.

I've carried over the format from another Pbp forum which is quotes for dialogue and italics for thoughts, but I'm flexible.

cheers

Come to think of it, maybe a Mind vs. Mind is in order -- basically a test to see if Jack can keep his voice down vs. LP's sense of hearing, noticing his body language, etc.

And since I just re-read Mind and see that it does include awareness, let's do that.

Blockade and Lady P -- please both make straight Mind rolls. If LP wins, she overhears. If B wins, we'll have Heroglyph zap that IC post. Cool?
