Fearfully you look back into the mirror and see the hairy, snarling face has returned. No, it's worse than ever. What could have passed as a human face under certain conditions is now obviously..something else. Your nose flares through slitted nostrils, your ears are more pointed, a fine fur covers the whole of your face.

"I I I," Dr Walker stammers, "I tried to warn you Agent Fenris, I didn't think it would be permanent."

"I understand, Dr. Walker." Fenris snarls. "Now, my condition is more extreme than before." He pauses touching his face with his paw while looking at his reflection. "I knew it would not be permanent, but it was good to visit. Let me know when you have something else to test, because it's clear that I can't have my life back if Fenris returns when I drop that disk."

"He must have healed up entirely in the few minutes that it took that slime bag to walk in and walk back out. I had checked on him just ten minutes prior to Mr Smalls waltzing his butt in there and I can promise you, the fat guy still looked like an overdone brisket."

Seeing Overdrive give her a go-to-* look as he hangs up the phone, the nurse realizes he overheard her but only gives him a crooked grin and a shrug as though to say she doesn't care that he heard.

Dr Mortinson rolls her eyes in exasperation. "No, I'm under a restraining order to not talk about the incident." Turning to the man with his hand on her shoulder, "Restraining order or no, never put your hand on me again a%^hole!"

The armed man grimaces and steps back to his position against the wall, shooting daggers with his eyes into the back of the lady's head.

"It was put into place by the judge that ordered my release as a condition of my bail. Judge Miles if you care, he's a fed."

You see The Doorman, red faced and fuming like a toddler, stomp off to another part of the basement holding area.

"Doc, what's his problem?" Fenris motions to the Doorman. "Is he more than your assistant?"

Javier glances at Overdrive and frowns slightly. He places a hand on the nurse's elbow, turning her gently away, and says encouragingly, "I want to thank you for being so helpful, Ms. Lawson. Did Mr. Smalls come with someone or bring something with him when he visited Mr. Gucchi?"

*! I didn't make myself clear
I only meant Overdrive's Nature was over-obvious. Not that he looked daggers at the nurse.
He takes particular pride in good behaving in front of a lady...
He's also clever enough to understand such attitude could heighten the nurse's hostility.
He would only grin from ear to ear.)

Nycto picks up his phone and dials The Doorman number "Doctor Mortinson is under a restraining order by Judge Miles, a fed, not to talk about the incident. There is important information here. Can you use your skills to gets us a way over it? Or should we actually go see this Judge?"

"Mike's an angry, but brilliant young man," the doctor says in a hushed tone to you so Mike can't hear him. "He proved the existance of the Chimera particle during his summer break at MITa few years ago, if you can believe that."

Seeing your look on indifference he continues, "It took a team of scientists two decades to prove what he did in two months. He joined our team and advanced our understanding of the Chimera by exponential leaps.

"No matter how brilliant he is, how much praise and credit we give him, he doesn't follow well. He believes he should be in charge of this project. I guess you could call it professional jealousy."

The beautiful nurse listens in silence, her arms crossed and her lips in a smirk. When you finish she replies sarcastically, "I'd give you a slow, heartfelt clap, but I just did my nails. So, did you have that speach prepared for just this moment? Or did you just wing it Agent Overdrive?

"You and your good-hearted kind can feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that you stand between us and the horrible, black-hearted novas. Did it ever occur to you that maybe we, the poor defenseless normals, might not need heroes like you if you'd all just go away? What have novas done for the world but kill lots of people?"

Smiling as though she didn't just act like a total *, she answers, "It seems he brought half the McDonald's menu with him. We found wrappers to a dozen hamburgers and half-a-dozen orders of fries on the bed. Guess the fat * was hungry."
