I like what I've read in "Legends" so far (which isn't a lot). I've started making some suggestions on the shared doc.

One thing I'm sure that will be discussed is the "human only" player-character.

I'm not suggesting it is "wrong", just that .we all know that the fantasy players love playing a Dwarf or Elf or Half-Orc.

When you have time, can you speak to this - just curious if it out of personal preference for the type of fantasy you enjoy, or if it is out of a desire to keep BASH "simple". or if you created the world first and are having BASH fit Erisa, or for some other reason.

Thanks!

I'm not sure this is the forum for a discussion of this nature but it's easy to mold a character based on an "elf" or "dwarf", without necessarily having a template for it.

1. Bearded Dork is right. The Legends of Steel material shouldn't be in a public discussion yet. Instead google docs has its own "discussion" tab you can use. We can keep private conversations going there, or I can open a private forum here.

2. I will address your concern though. Legends of Steel is not a generic fantasy setting. It is a Sword & Sorcery setting. Think "Conan". There were no elves in Conan. It's not a gothic medieval fantasy world- it is much more like an ancient Sumerian type thing. Elves and goblins don't fit here.

There will be a "BASH! Fantasy: Ultimate Edition" and the rules you are seeing here are what they'll be using. It will have elves, dwarves, and all the other "standard" fantasy races, plus several more. But that is another book.

Had permission to run it yesterday at Miscon Game day, and now I can't wait to actually be able to play/run this for realsies.

I'm at that place you get to when you are the first one to have finished the awesome new book by author you and your friends like, but can't discuss it because they haven't finished it yet.

Currently there is a bit of a snag because we need more artwork than anticipated, and I'll be needing to commission some.
