Hey folks,
These are benchmarks that I designed to accommodate the new Heightened power that will appear in the next printing of BASH UE. For those who don't know how Heightened works, it is an Intense Training power. One rank gives you a +3 Result Bonus to a specific Stat. You can buy up to three ranks of the power - once for each of the three Stats.
So, a character with Brawn 2 (Heightened) would roll 2d6, multiply the number rolled by 2 (as usual), and then add +3 to the result. In other words, a die roll of 3 for this character would yield a total result of 9. At least that's how it worked in BAM #5. I don't know if it has been changed since.
Anyway, here are my benchmark tables:

Can I quote you on those?BASHMAN wrote:A chart for Soak would be a good idea too. Like:
(x2) Take a crook's best Sunday punch
(x4) Withstand assault rifle fire
(x6) Withstand a bazooka
(x8) Handily survive a nuclear blast.
I was thinking of putting a damage and soak chart together at one point.
The Brawn chart above those a little of that (with Soak), but not enough.
The damage chart would include weapons as well as stuff that can be easily broken by attacks of that magnitued. (Easily punch through a brick wall, Bend steel with bare hands, etc.)
Anyway, I'm willing to whip these up in more detail if they are useful.
(I still owe you that Weapons and Armor article for BAM too. That'll help with the damage chart.)
Best,
