Magic

How do I build a Magic power in which a character is only limited by what he can do by his imagination? This character wouldn't use a spellbook so I want to stay away from using Grimore.

Look at the stellar sentinel build for ideas. Also it's expensive but omnipotence and/or the versatile advantage.

Those were what I was going to say.

As for not using the "Grimoire" you can call it whatever you want. The function is more important than the form. It doesn't have to be a book, or even an item. If you want to call it "Magical Refocus" that's fine. The effect is still the same (you have to spend a few hours studying/meditating/resting and make a roll in order to use it).

Also, I would consider the following powers as the ones that a magician can get the most magical "mileage" out of: Conjuration, Summoning, and Telekinesis. Between these three, you can do a LOT of things.
