Victorian era stuff in BASH sci-fi?
I asked this in Samuraidad's thread about compatibility with BASH UE, but seems it got overlooked.
How much info on running sci-fi games in the Victorian era is there in BASH Sci-fi?

I don't have my book with me right now but I beleive BeardedDork is right and these would be found in Modern ranged weapons (little has changed with these weapons in the 100+ years since they've been introduced).urbwar wrote:Hmmm. Nothing like a Winchester, or the six shooters then?MrJupiter wrote:Not there. But the equipment section does have archaic melee and ranged weapons, and the Blunderbuss, Musket, and Powder Keg are listed. I hope that helps.

It does have standard rifles, shotguns, handguns, derringers, etc. Even a gatlin gun. The main difference between firearms in the victorian era and modern is the absence of repeaters- which is mentioned in the rules. I suppose that the absence of smokeless powder should also have been mentioned, but I didn't think of it at the time.
As a fun optional rule, you could say that whenever a firearm is discharged, it createds 1 square of smoke directly in front of the firer that gives a -2 Dice Penalty to any shots passing through it for 1-3 pages thereafter.

This pretty much answers my question.
Other than the differences in character creation, are the weapons and vehicles in stuff portable into BASH UE as is, or are any changes needed when porting them over?

The vehicles go by their own rules in SF- and in UE they use pretty much the same rules as the Heroes. The reason is that Heroic Scale characters pretty much max out at being able to lift 400 lbs, while Superheroic scale characters can lift a super star destroyer. So in BASH! SF there is a separate "Ship Scale" of combat. This "ship scale" however scales about right with the Superheroic scale- so you probably could just drop some Heroes into a fight with some battleships or something.
There were special powers, etc for ships & vehicles in BASH! SF, but there's no reason you can't still use them.
