Versatile Clarification

Post by Heroglyph »

On p. 105 under Renaissance Man it says:
Versatile is also appropriate- enabling the character to “suddenly remember” the hypnotism trick he learned while traveling India, or deduce that idol he found in the Maya ruins lets people walk through walls.
But under Versatile it says:
You can perform a power stunt without having to spend a hero die.
The examples given under Ren-Man aren't really examples of a power stunt, since he has no powers. It seems to be allowing him the use of powers and/or skills that he doesn't possess.

I though Versatile was only for power stunts?

I think the answer there comes on p.21 in the description of power stunt, toward the end of the paragraph.

...To do a power stunt, choose a power you want to gain and explain to the Narrator how you are doing it. Spend a Hero Die and you can use this power for the rest of the scene.

And the Renaissance Man does have powers, Martial Arts Mastery and Skillful Are powers.
