Jumping

Say a character with Brawn 3 and also has fleet footed.

How long and high can they jump?

page 18 movement rules
3 times 3 is 9
so 9 squares ever up or over
fleet of foot would only let you go 4 squares so its worthless for a character that strong's jumping

Cheers for the reply.

It says the run is x4 agility, and the Brawn is +1 but it doesn't say anything about a 4 square limitation from jump!

So in theory if you are allowed the +1 is it 4 * 4 = an 80ft long jump or any 80 ft. leap up a building?

im looking at it like the equation is
jumping distance = brawn + 1 squares
so far a 1 str character there jump wound be 2 twice the 1 they would normally get
for anyone stronger just jumping seems better
this seems wrong but remember its not supposed to be a superpower

Your Base jumping distance is Brawn x Brawn.

Fleet of Foot adds +1 Square to your Base Jumping Distance.

So it is Brawn x Brawn +1.

In other words 3 x 3 + 1 = 10

Surely your math degree tells you that 3x3+1 = (3x3)+1 because of the order of operations, though ;-)

True, but it doesn't mean that it's not proper to write it that way!

Hi Guys,

Quick question if I have a hero is being chased across a rooftop and he has jump 10 squares does that mean he can safely jump 50ft.

Also say he wants to do a vertical jump say up the side of a building how high could he jump?

Cheers,

Steve

I think it says that Half of your jump distance can be vertical. So if you were to jump 50 across, your jump could also be 25 feet high in an arc.

Yes, Jumping distance of 10Sq means you can leap across a 50 foot chasm no problem.
