Legends of Steel Update: Sexy Armor, Mind Blast 6/9/10

So I'm now full steam ahead on Legends of Steel, which includes the revised BASH! Fantasy Edition rules, and I thought I'd share with you some of the things that are being included. So check out a few new powers: Sexy Armor, and Mind Blast

Mind Blast 1-5pts; Magical, Range, Area, EC = Level x2
You can blast enemies with an attack that cuts bores directly into their mind, causing great suffering. Each point in this power is 1DM Stun (damage is not based on Mind). Unlike a normal attack, damage done by Mind Blast is not soaked by Armor, and there is no roll to hit. Instead the attacker rolls damage for the Mind Blast, and the victim rolls Mental Defense (including Mind Shield if applicable) and takes the difference in damage. Unlike most magical attacks, the soak is not halved here. If the Soak is greater than the damage, the person was not affected by the Mind Blast.

Sexy Armor 1-3pts
You don’t wear heavy, restricting armor. You prefer to run around in a chain mail bikini, or go bare- chested with just a loincloth. You are immune to the elements and have a +5 bonus to soak for each point in this Talent, as long as you are not wearing “real” armor. While wearing your Sexy Armor, you also add each point in this Talent as a Dice Bonus to rolls to seduce or charm members of the opposite sex. Once you cover up, all bonuses are lost.

LOL! Shennaqua would enjoy Sexy Armor, I think, at least based on some of the MMO characters she's made.

I don't have Bash Fantasy, does it distinguish between lethal and non-lethal attacks, or does the reference to "1 DM Stun" under Mind Blast talking about something else?

Yes- Fantasy distinguishes between Lethal & Stun damage. The difference is how long it takes to heal, & whether it leaves you KOed or dying.

so is sexy armor going to give 1/2 the soak per point as regular armor or is armor soak being reduced in general ?

Could Mind Blast be ported right over to BASH UE or would it not work?

Well it has Energy Cost built into it already in the Fantasy Version (and a high energy cost) so it would depend. There should be some sort of limit on its use or it would be unbalanced I think.

No- armor familiarity *allows* you to wear armor w/o penalties. Sexy Armor means you have soak even when you aren't wearing any, and have a significant bonus to seduction type stuff.

It will in the sense that it will have the rules- but it won't have the subgenres (like Ninjas, Pirates, etc).

I also forgot: Sexy Armor has full effect vs. Magical damage- ordinary armor is half effect.
