does it have range to place the power on someone else?

how long does it last if it is not a maintained power?

for instance Damage Aura

This might be a Narrator’s Call but in most cases, I would think that some kind of physical contact must be made with the target (justifying the Called Shot attack for subjects that are not willing to be affected by said power). A player might be able to argue that a “Flaming Body” Damage Aura power (with the Affects Others enhancement) might be able to pass on the power’s abilities to another simply by having the target within the Area affected their power.

A Sustained power is similar to a Maintained power, except that the power doesn’t shut off when you are hit in combat. I would thus assume that the duration of 1 Scene would apply here as well.

and does it affect everyone in an area?

If I buy Boost Brawn in an area that affects others, does it boost my enemies? How do I make it just work on allies?

You can change the area from a Burst to an Arc to cherry pick targets.

There is also an Enhancement for Area attacks you can take that lets you bypass certain potential targets in the area. It is called "Target Exclusion" and appears in Awesome Powers Volume 4.
