Hero Machine

Not being an artist like some of you, I decided to do a proof of concept with free software. :)

First up we have Iron Vixen, sort of envisioned as a female Cyborg.

And next we have Black Viper. Not sure if she's a heroine or villain. Probably good, since one of my friends like archers. But she could be bad under the right circumstances. ;)

Very cool. It's a good program for sketching out what you want.

Iron Vixen and Black Viper are great character ideas. Thank goodness for drawing programs and sites like HeroMachine and Fabrica de Herois at http://fabricadeherois.blogspot.ca/.

Without these tools, I'd never get a decent image for my heroes.

Thanks, Bashman and MrJ. :) I just started using this so I'm still trying to get the hang of it.

I polished up Iron Vixen a little bit, specifically the mechanical hand. I like this one a lot better.

I also did a Wildstar pic, as I'd like to reboot her for a new BASH! game.*

* The idea is kind of like a Dakotaverse in the Marvel Universe. Avengers are battling a Kree ship over the yet to be named city, Thor hits it with a lightning bolt and a combination of Asgardian magic and mutagenic Kree energy cascades over the town, centered on a high school. Lots of new supers appear as a result...

I dig the characters and like the campaign/story idea a lot.

Keep up the good work!

That's a great way to start a home town supers setting. Green Ronin used a similar idea for launching their whole Emerald City setting (which only had a handful of supers before the "Silver Storm" episode. I really think using the Marvel Universe as the backdrop for your home campaign is brilliant - just so much raw material to work with!

*Edit: I made a mistake. The super-power infusion event in the Emerald City setting is referred to as the Silver Storm not the Silver Cloud.

Thanks for all the comments, guys.

The roster continues to grow! We have a super strong gang leader who goes by the name of Tank, and his girlfriend Bonfire. Then there's a hero named Blue Fury, kind of a younger, handsomer Beast. :)

Great names for your characters (especially for Bonfire)!

Thanks. I've got preliminary stats too, though I need to go back and look through Awesome Powers elemental and force volumes for Bonfire and Wildstar.

Yes, these books are great resources for characters. BASHMAN always seems to come up with perfect power descriptions and having actual rules tweaks in the descriptions that really cement a power concept (beyond just Power X is Special Attack linked with Continual Damage, or whatever).
