How many can I Mind Control at once?

Post by kevperrine »

I like to write down big/little questions we have while playing the game. Here is a question we hit today:

MIND CONTROL
Do you need to roll the contested Mind Check EACH page, even if you're not giving a "NEW" command?
Meaning - if I Mind Control a villain and order him to "Attack", would he continue to attack each round? Or must I spend "an action" to maintain the control (ordering him to keep attacking), or would the controlled villain automatically remain under my control and continue attacking. Then, if I wanted him to stop attacking and hop on one leg - I'd have to make another Contested Mind Check?
The Mind Control power does not require "Concentration" (needing a full page action) but it does have "Maintained" which means that it is "always on" but "needs the user's focus".

What does that "focus" require for the action?
Would it be considered an "attack" action (as the original Mind Control was) or would it be a simple (move) type action? Allowing to be able to (attack) Mind Control ANOTHER target?

Essentially - this all answers the question:
CAN I use Mind Control on a different target next round and maintain control of BOTH targets?

This happened to question when our Heroic-Vampire PC Mind Controlled the * Commander villain, but then (next round) wanted to Mind Control his 4 * Troop minions ALSO.

thanks!

You don't need to rerol unless you give a new command, OR the command that was given is repeatedly something the character would find abhorant or self destructive.

So if you Mind Control SUPER PALADIN to "stand guard here and stop any who try to enter". When another gang of criminals tries to break in, he would follow the orders. When his friend, a fellow superhero, shows up and he is forced to fight him, SUPER PALADIN gets a re-roll.

Thanks BASHMAN. That's very helpful advice and and answer to something I had been wondering about myself (but never thought about asking when actually at the forum here).
