On hearing the warning from Detective Zero, Numinous flies to about 5 feet from the Mayor and friends, and throws up her hand, forming a glowing pink dome of force, shaped like a huge round roman shield over us. This forms around the mayor's party, all heroes in range and herself, centered on the body guard, since the mayor is now out of harms way with Front-Runner.

OOC: Move 3 squares, then Force field 3, plus Omnipotence to help increase the area. Set it to Close Range, Medium Area, 5x5 squares centered on Mayor. FF soak is 10. Hits is mind X 10 +30/point = 140 hits.

The Elemental begins to sprint across the garage floor, thundering rocky footsteps leaving indentions in the concrete. He charges right at the driver, a terrified look crossing his face (from the threat of a bomb or the charging rock-man?).

The Elemental's form flows around the driver creating a rough statue of a terrified human holding his hands out to shield himself. Once he is fully engulfed, The Elemental resolidifes and prepares himself for the blast.

With Detective Zero's shouted warning, you all spring into action!

The blast is tremendous but the fast actions of the heroes and the incredible display of powers and sills quickly neutralize the threat!

As the dust and smoke begins to clear you have saved the Mayor (Front-Runner), protected Miss Centropolios (Detective Zero), brought the power of the blast lower (Tempest), put up a protective barrier (Numinous) and kept the driver from harm (The Elemental).

Front-Runner, as you turn to try and dissipate the explosion, you see the Bodyguard is about to get engulfed as Numinous' shield is going up. You zip over fast and pull him to safety as well, just seconds ahead of Captain Max, who seemed actually startled by it all.

The Ferret, flips over top of your heads and lands with a fighting stance.

"WE'VE GOT COMPANY!"

As you all turn to where he is looking, the shield has begun to dissipate from the force of the explosion (Half a Hero Point for me forcing that on your Numinous) you see in the clearing smoke a group of individuals.

They are all wearing proper business suits, though the one in the front is wearing on that has a more old school (read 40's) cut to it. The 4 men with him look like regular mobsters right out of Central Casting (they are even carrying Tommy-Guns) but the main guy is a very large man, at least as big as Captain Max, and his fine red suit is patterned with pale yellow pinstripes.

As he takes off his fedora, he smiles a broad and malicious gring.

"Black Tony sends his regards Mr. Mayor." He places the fedora on a nearby jut of damaged concrete. "He regrets he can't be here to say hello, but promises he will have a long chat with your head when I bring it back to him."

He cracks his knuckles and the looks pointedly at all the heroes.

"Shall we get this over with?"

Narrator Voice: If you want to know who he is, Mind 20 rolls please. Otherwise roll for Priority.

Some of you recognize the large man immediately... Hammer Hurricane!

This guy has been kicking around since the Golden Age where he was a member of the first villain team, Super Gang!

He is known to be very strong, night invulnerable and able to spin in a fashion that creates small whirlwinds/tornadoes around him, along with all the other things you would suspect he can do with that power.

He has been known to work for various mob families as an enforcer and it would seem that he has been hired by "Black Tony" Romano!

Narrator Voice: Let's have some RP before we start if anyone wants. Once the fight is ready to go, we can use priorities as listed.

Zero release his soft hug around the angelic miss Centropolis.
"Are you alright Miss Brie?" he whispers.
Then he face the scoundrels, still shielding the beauty (snuggled up to his iron back? Unless she shriek against the metal beast and take to her heels? )

To the blazing Speedster
"Don't underestimate him Front-Runner. That's Hammer Hurricane an old stager who did a lot of damage in the past..."

To the mobsters (especially the goons)
"But to defy a whole group of super heroes... You're outnumbered... What do you hope to accomplish?"

(I'd like to scan the area , once again. Maybe there's more baddies hidden...)

[Dustland]

A crack forms in The Elemental's rocky hide and the terrified driver falls to the ground, grasping for breath. "I suggest you run," says the stony construct, offering the only sensible advice to the cowering man.

He then turns his attention to the gathered evil doers. "Hurricane, I've been..." he pauses in mid sentence when he notices the gun weilding mobsters.

"Please, be reasonable, you have no ear protection and the sounds of those guns amplified in this concrete structure will surely cause you hearing loss. I must advise you to choose another weapon!"

[Lindharin]

Tempest grins at the goons. "Fellas, you should listen to the big guy, because I really do think using those weapons in here will be hazardous to your health."

Growing more serious, he turns his attention on Hammer Hurricane, gestures at the heroes gathered around, and says. "Hurricane, if you really want to 'get this over with', as you put it, just surrender now. As Zero said, you are badly outnumbered."

OOC: This doesn't feel right. I beat the knowledge check by 10. Based on what I know of his history/reputation, does it seem like he would be powerful enough to feel confident facing off against all of us, including Captain Max? I'm wondering if he might have other allies here, or if the goons aren't what they look like.

How far away is the Mayor? Front-Runner took him away from the blast, but Hurricane was addressing him so I presume he's still in sight/hearing. I want to keep track of him, make sure no other bad guys are sneaking up on him. As I'm talking I'd like to move between the villains and the mayor.
