I love this idea!

Btw, LOL@ "BUB"...perfect!

heheh.... glad you like it. I'm still working on the template - should be tomorrow, fairly easily as I said.

MrJupiter wrote:This is great! The idea to include more than Marvel is excellent! I'd love to see BASHed Crusaders, Crushers, Destroyers and other awwesome V&V characters.

Unfortunately, I have ZERO familiarity about wiki-ing: though I've broused many such sites (mostly Wikipedia). Any pointers?

Agreed.
That's what I was thinking all along.
Actually...
My intention is to help make this wiki project a COMPLETE resource for BASH! UE with as much things/sections as we want including (but not limited to):

- all character builds: conversions of comic characters, movie/TV, and others, other RPG characters, etc...

- a place for Campaign suggestions (in the format made in BASH!), as well as "universe" guidelines (like "do this to the rules for an Iron Age campaign")

- a place for custom-original heroes/villains (same format as conversions)

- a place for custom House Rule ideas

- a place for all the known Errata for BASH! UE

- a "portal" for links to BASH! campaign web pages/wikis

- other links/resource direction aids

- Maybe even a place to host images that might inspire ideas, etc...

- and much more as folks think of ideas. (can you think of more now, I'll add them to the Navigation)

AslanC wrote:Might I suggest also allowing BASH-ups! (tm pending ;) ) of other Super RPG characters? Like the ones from V&V, M&M, SAS, etc...?

Just a thought :)

hehehehe..... beatcha to it. :)
Good thought!
I don't think we should "suggest" or "allow", I think it's a MUST HAVE!!! :)

Well - the best source to start with is the most well known wiki:
Wikipedia's info on what a wiki is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiki
(at the bottom there are resource links)
You can also Google "how to wiki" and get tons of notes.

But the easiest thing is to just try editing. You can always "go back" if you mess something up (formatting or whatever), to a stored page in the history. Same said - if you were to accidentally change a page or erase, etc... Myself or other members can go back into the History of the wiki and resave that last good-page. Easy. That makes anyone doing "graffiti" not a problem.

Really updating a wiki (at least the Google Sites for sure) is almost as easy as using a Word Doc or the like. It's a little more futsy with formatting, sometimes things need played with to work right. But overall its fairly easy.
You'll see.

I meant to reference some of MY campaign wikis for folks to look at. Below are several from the past 2-4 years. My "current" games are Earthdawn (Pathfinder/D&D3.75) & Paladin In * (D&D4)...

Here are links to look at what can be done:

1st: a simple base template example that you "begin" with

VAMPIRE: https://sites.google.com/site/vampirethedarkage/
This is NOT my site, it's a friend's simple site for comparison on what you start with and where you can go - compared to ones I've done.

And of course the ICONS wiki that spawned this idea, it uses "Wikispaces" a different wiki-farm than "Google Sites":
ICONS: http://icons-truth-justice-and-gaming.w ... Characters

Then THESE are my examples:

EARTHDAWN: https://sites.google.com/site/ageoflegend4e/

A PALADIN IN *: https://sites.google.com/site/apaladininhell/

CALL OF CTHULHU: https://sites.google.com/site/alphagreengov/

D&D4: https://sites.google.com/site/ddretrocrawl/
D&D4: https://sites.google.com/site/slaughter ... esofchaos/

THUNDARR: https://sites.google.com/site/demondawg ... dsoflight/

SUPERS: https://sites.google.com/site/thefreedomlegion/

WATERSHIP DOWN: https://sites.google.com/site/watershipdowngame/

IRON KINGDOMS: https://sites.google.com/site/ironkingdomsimagery/

Hope that helps make things more clear as to what's coming.

heheheh.... HEY!
Is that *my* tm?!??!

I liked "B.U.B." as an acronym for "BASH!-Up-Builds" too, it's like a fun insider joke. An Easter Egg! And it was off the top of my head, I can't think of anything better (yet). hehe

fun fun

If you are going to create a wiki, please include Marvel, DC, Image, and the other publishers. Don't limit it to just one brand.

Okay....

As I noted, I have the BLANK SLATE of the wiki page up. I laid in all the pages I thought might be workable and built the basic site today.

Later this week (probably soon) I will be finishing the "look" of the site with color/imagery/logos, etc...

For now, take a look around - ask questions, and even start posting in your Character Builds. And/or copy/pasting in Builds from the Forums (contacting their creator if they're not yours, of course)

BASH! UP BUILDS
The Basic Action Super Hero Wiki Database Project, the world's finest BASH! UE Role-playing Game Character and Game Resource Encyclopedia for the Basic Action Super Hero Ultimate Edition game system.

...is a GO!

https://sites.google.com/site/bashupbuilds/home

Please...
Don't be too harsh on me though, I'm doing this for fun and it's only the first stage - completely a work in progress.

Cool Beans!

I'll probably add stuff in about a month's time. Things are too busy a work right now, but I'm keen to post my Classic Champion write-ups, as well as a few Marvel write-ups that I've done.

Best,

It would be interesting to do The Doom Patrol. They have had so many variations over the years.
It would be a challenge to stat up Crazy Jane.
