Fenris nods to Captain Marshall. "I really appreciate the opportunity. I'll head over there after I have a few words with those Nova protesters." He nods to his teammates and deliberately heads over to the Nova protesters. He tries to take a line that avoids the anti-Nova protesters but will glare at them if they attempt to start anything with him holding his paw out and saying, "You're fine. I don't have an issue with you."

(I forgot that one! I wonder what's his cause)Piotr Golduski
"He's right Stitch...Be extra careful... I mean it. Worship is a slippery slope and you could be an easy target for Anti-Novas...""Y'know, you should be careful, dude," he warns Stitch. "Remember what happened to the first guy who went around healing people and got the rep for being godly."
Harrison says with real concern.

"Well, he's hoping this bill gets passed before he goes to trial. If it does, the case will probably get dropped. A cop shot an "unlwafully armed man" during a declared state of emergency, that's how it'll be presented.Nyx stays behind for a moment to talk with the lawyer, "Excuse me ma'am, how is Officer Grumbles doing?"
"If it doesn't, he and I both know he'll be doing some time, short of a pardon from the governor or the president. I don't believe he'll get the needle if he's convicted, but he will go away. Needless to say, Mr Grumbles is a bit scared right now."
"Right right," he laughs dismissively then pauses in mid chuckle as it dawns on him what you're talking about. "Oh, sure, no I won't let things get out of hand. I'll, well, I'll..." he struggles to think of what to say. "I guess I'll try to get the word out that I'm not, you know, God.""Y'know, you should be careful, dude," he warns Stitch. "Remember what happened to the first guy who went around healing people and got the rep for being godly."

It disturbs you two a bit that he seems none too eager to squash the notion of his own divinity.
Fenris's long stride takes him quickly past the "normal" protestors, who immediately quiet down as they catch sight of the enormous nova walking by.He tries to take a line that avoids the anti-Nova protesters but will glare at them if they attempt to start anything with him holding his paw out and saying, "You're fine. Fenris approaches the anti-Grumbles gathering of novas and it it strikes him for the first time that all the novas are obviously not normal. The great majority of novas that you've seen can pass as baseline human, but everyone gathered has been changed physically by the event and is easily identifiable as something else.
The novas watch you approach and a young woman who's skin is covered in glistening scales steps forward to greet you. "I'm Matsu, and you are Fenris of course. It is a great honor to meet you." She bows to you politely as you stop to register her thick Chinese accent. You can't help but smell the scent of the ocean surround her.
"Have you come to join us warrior?"

"No, I haven't come to join you." Fenris replies. "What are you doing? Do you even know what happened? The nova that the police officer killed had the power to explode and reappear somewhere else. He was about to explode again in my face with many others in his range who would have been injured or killed. He had just destroyed an airplane!" His tirade hits a crescendo.Dustland wrote:Fenris's long stride takes him quickly past the "normal" protestors, who immediately quiet down as they catch sight of the enormous nova walking by.

"What if you had family on that airplane? Think people! You were human before becoming novas! That nova had the power to hurt people and used them against innocent victims. He was equivalent to any normal nutjob wearing a vest of explosives with the will to detonate it."
"If you want the normals to treat us like human, you better start acting human with compassion. This stupid law Prop 13 is worth protesting against, because it will violate our civil liberties. Supporting the conviction of this police officer is vengeful and destructive. You all should have better things to do than giving normals more reason to fear and hate us."
With that he turns around and walks to the jail.

Nycto answers Marshal
"When are things "normal" captain? Even without Novas the world is always changing."
He extends his hand, and suddenly the shadows vanish, showing a normal arm.
"But my situation is different from Fenris... This "nova" thing, these powers, allowed me to be a better person, and help others, when before I was only a left-over soldier from a non-existing war." he smiles sadly and the hand turns to shadow again.
"Novas aren't the problem, humankind as a whole is. Intolerance, hate, lack of self-control... We are the same people as before, the same core. The change only made the flaws and the good show. "
After a few seconds thinking he adds "The future, as always, will bring good and bad things, and either way, Nova or Normal we will be here to face them."

"Great," Javier mutters, low enough to keep it our of Stitch's earshot but not Harrison's "we're going to have to go in and save his scrawny * at some point, aren't we?"Dustland wrote:"Right right," he laughs dismissively then pauses in mid chuckle as it dawns on him what you're talking about. Louder, he reiterates the offer, "Dude, just give this guy a call, okay? At the very least, give us some way for us to keep in touch with each other just in case, okay?"

"Definitely" Harrison sighs. "Why, oh why, do they never listen?... and I though I was the rash one..."we're going to have to go in and save his scrawny * at some point, aren't we?"
Well, if he can turn water in wine, I'll reexamine his case ..."
He leans against a wall and lights a ciggy.
"I think we can investigate at the hospital now? 'Smalls' can alter minds but security cams don't lie. We'll see which kind of 'healer' he hired..."

The novas faces sink at Fenris's reprimand. Matsu grabs Fenris's arm as he turns to walk away, eliciting a growl from him as her unnaturally strong grip holds him for a moment."If you want the normals to treat us like human, you better start acting human with compassion. This stupid law Prop 13 is worth protesting against, because it will violate our civil liberties. Supporting the conviction of this police officer is vengeful and destructive. You all should have better things to do than giving normals more reason to fear and hate us."
"That's the point brother. This protest has very little to do with that cop, and more to do with us showing the world that we will not stand by while we are treated as criminals for being better than them! The trial of Officer Grumbles is only the opening salvo. The normals are scared of us and are now planning to elliminate us, don't you see?" Her golden eyes burn with an angry light that raises the hair on Fenris's neck; you know feral energy and this woman is too close to it.
Fenris can go to the jail if he wishes after Matsu's statement
The captain shakes his head in disagreement. "And what happens when one of your kind figures out they can go nuclear? Or cause plagues to sweep through cities and nations? One moron with a gun or a bomb is dangerous, but his reach is limited. Novas can go anywhere, detroy anything. Men aren't meant to have that sort of power."After a few seconds thinking he adds "The future, as always, will bring good and bad things, and either way, Nova or Normal we will be here to face them."
Stitch takes down the Doorman's number, promising to call him. He also gives you guys his cell number and insists that he will avoid any further comparisons to The Man."Dude, just give this guy a call, okay? At the very least, give us some way for us to keep in touch with each other just in case, okay?"
Javier and Harrison head over to the hospital, Javi as giddy as a kid in a candy store with his shiny new credentials...

Fenris looks at her arm holding his and looks back at her matching feral energy. "You are in the wrong place, at the wrong time, with the wrong message. I was just with some normals who support the novas, and they had the same perception as me." He continues to get louder to address all of the novas.Dustland wrote:The novas faces sink at Fenris's reprimand. "Remember that we live in a world of 20-second sound bites. The event didn't mutate humans attention span. This demonstration right now at this place sends the message that the novas prefer to enforce their on laws... that we are above the laws that have been established here since the American Revolution. That's the message that normals will get about this protest, not what you want them to hear. We don't even have a credible and articulate spokesman who can represent our consensus. Because we don't even have consensus!"
"Go organize. Get petitions signed against Prop 13. Behave like normal Americans asserting your civil rights. Stop giving our enemies anymore ammunition to label us like the Jews in WWII. Go home!" He crescendos and purposefully intimidates them to go home.

You could hear a pin drop in downtown Horizon City. The novas look uncomfortably at one another and at the ground, trying to avoid Fenris's glare. First one wanders off, then like a flood gate opening, the others begin to scatter, leaving Fenris and Matsu standing on the street corner, the pro-Grumbles group watching in hushed silence to see what will happen."Go organize. Get petitions signed against Prop 13. Behave like normal Americans asserting your civil rights. Stop giving our enemies anymore ammunition to label us like the Jews in WWII. Go home!" He crescendos and purposefully intimidates them to go home.
Fenris half expects the scaled woman to lash out, her oddly golden fish-eyes glimmering with fury. "I hope you're right, but I'll be here for you if you're wrong. Remember that Fenris." With that, she turns and walks away, her stride almost a glide due to her inhuman grace.
You two arrive at the hospital and enter through the main doors, which seem to hesitate a moment before allowing you to enter. You approach the front desk and ask to see the head of security, a man named James Jacobs according to the directory. A flash of your newly printed badges sends the receptionist scurrying to the phone, assuring you two that he'll be around shortly.Javier and Harrison head over to the hospital, Javi as giddy as a kid in a candy store with his shiny new credentials...
As you two pace about the lobby, trying to look important and official, Harrison notices something odd: the two security camers seem to be tracking your movements. The elevator opens and a non-descript looking man in a white shirt, black slacks, and a cheesy silver badge comes striding over to you two, looking nervous as *.
"I'm James Jacobs, pleased to meet you guys. What can I do for you?"
