Switch Teleportation

Post by The_Strangler »

Working on a villain tonight named Switch. His primary villainous power is the ability to switch places with his foes and in some cases allies. He loves to put himself in harm's way and do a little switcharoo. Example; He'll stand in front of a train and right before impact... poof, SWITCH, SMACK! Or jump off a building and and... poof SWITCH, "aaaahhhhhh...squish"!

But I've said too much already... muh hahahaha.

Anyways, has anyone else done this? Would it be look like this?

Switch(Others):Teleportation(5) [Affects Others, Linked:Switch(Self)] Cost:8
Switch(Self):Teleportation(5)

Finally, would it be a simple mind contest to determine success against an unwilling target?

Gracias!

Cool idea.

I asked a similar question here:
http://bashtalk.org/modules.php?name=Fo ... opic&t=617

I was inquiring about a burst teleportation, but Bashman mentioned attacking a single target would require a called shot because it should be more difficult since you can "autokill" with it.

After giving it some thought, a simple solution would be Teleportation linked to Special Attack (limitation: situational).

Also I believe it would use Agility to attack,

Thanks Dustland. I had considered the autokill part. Making him switch places with the target would prevent that. Agility vs D makes more sense. Not sure where I came up with the mind contest. There is always the possibility of failure so putting himself into certain death situations would be unwise. Maybe he's a daredevil and lives for the thrill of it.

I originally came up with it thinking I would use it to hold-off for the hero to attack him and switch places with one of the heroes allies. Could create some fun twists. How about a hero who inadvertintly attacks himself with a ranged attack? Lots of possibilities. I'll have to post the build when I get him done. Have a good weekend :)

That's a really cool - and mean - power to use on heroes. Fun for the minor things, maybe even fun for the invulnerable hero types (who get to shrug off the train wreck surrounding him: let's hope the train was empty!).

Still this is a really great power for a villain (used carefully). They'd never forget this guy!

I like the idea of the called shot/roll vs defense limiter. It makes the villain think twice before trying the maneuver.

Yep. I still need to fine tune him then I will get him on the Builds board. I think the note to add range to it is valid.

Can you imagine how he would travel through a populated city? He switches from person to person on the street leaving a wake of confusion behind him.

A little girl looks up and sees she isnt holding hands with her Mom anymore but rather a bag lady. Then a business man finds himself pushing a shopping cart full of junk. Then a street performer finds himself carrying a briefcase and talking on a cell phone. Then a tourist finds herself playing a guitar, badly, in front of a group of people. etc and so on while Switch moves rapidly to his destination.
