BASH Dice Roller

Post by m251 »

I posted this on the Yahoo group already, but thought it should be here too.

I've written a simple dice roller program for BASH. Set the multiplier, dice bonus and result bonus then roll the dice. It also keeps a list of recent rolls that you can click on to quickly re-roll that result (so you don't have to set each modifier every time).

The Windows version can be downloaded from:

Thanks m251- I was planning to post this myself and forgot about it. This is a very useful app indeed, folks!

I had a thought, reading through the dice roller threads - if someone were to make an Iphone/Ipod touch/Ipad app as a BASH dice roller that would be incredibly cool (beyond my own capabilities though)

I've been toying with the idea of loading the Droid SDK ('cause that's what I have) and see what coding up an app like that would take.

I play a number of systems with non-standard dice rolls, and having an app that can manage them would wicked cool, I agree. :)

I agree. Currently, there is an App in planning stages, but it's too early to give any details on, right now; other than it would be for more than just dice-rolling. That doesn't mean I'd oppose anybody making a stand-alone dice rolling app.
