Obligatory question, how much water is around?

Fenris heads to the rooftop and moves high above the group as everyone heads into the dust choked streets towards the missing building. Oddly enough no one seems to be overly concerned. As a matter of fact those not going about their normal business seem excited about whatever is going on up ahead...

You finally come to the downtown area, crowded with people, news crews, and police. You see the lot that once housed the old hotel has a constuction fence surrounding it with a banner drapped across it:

"Future Site of Nova Tech Inc"

The rubble has already been cleared and a dozen robots of various shapes and sizes are methodically constructing a new building with amazing speed and skill. A throng of men and women in suits and hardhats stands near the fence, watching as a woman in a lab coat watches over the robots as a mother might watch proudly as her children learn to walk.

"What the f%$k are we supposed to do now? G*& d%$# novas are even destroying union jobs," a burly man says to his companions, a group of grim faced blue collar types.

Suddenly a shout from the crowd cuts through the din, followed quickly by dozens then hundreds of frightened cries as people begin to run for cover as they spot the three shadowy, winged creatures circling the gathering.

Boost:There is a rather large fountain near you, the center piece of the town square.

Fenris calls Javier. "It's a construction site where the old hotel was. Nova Tech is building a new building using 100% robots. The union guys are *." He updates Javier. "Oh and tell Ncyto to turn off his shadows. They just caused a mass panic."

Javier nods at Fenris's call and passes the info in a low voice, "Yo, Nyc," he adds. "The birds are causing a scene. Keep 'em covert or make 'em go away before we incite a riot."

Using his mastery over all shadows, he focus on the shadow harpies and lets then, bit by bit, fade into shadow clouds, drifting to the wind, trying to mask their appearance as an eye trick.

A few minutes go by as police scramble to identify what has everyone spooked, but after a while, the crowd calms down as most people manage to convince themselves it was just a result of the low hanging clouds and all the dust.

Nycto: A few minutes later, your cell phone rings from a local number unknown to you. You pick up and a cool, yet slightly threatening voice identifies himself as Captain Marshall, the cop at the shooting of al'Malik who aimed a gun at you (I wrote Mitchell once too, sorry).

"I've got reports of some winged critters flying around that look like living shadows. You wouldn't have anything to do with them, would you?"

Overdrive: You see Susan (wife? or girlfriend?) with a couple of friends come out of a cafe, excited at all the commotion and the spectacle of the massive robots building a new office building right before their eyes. She hasn't noticed you and is a little way off.

Fenris: As you watch the crowd panic from your perch high above, you notice something odd about the construction robots. At the first sign of danger, they quickly drop their work and move to the woman in the lab coat as though to protect her. Once the crowd quiets down, they all move back to work, the woman looking embarrassed in front of the gathered business people/politicians. You recognize her as she turns around, Cheryl Mortinson, CEO and lead researcher of Nova Tech Inc.

(Damned! I missed a panel again! I'm only a shadow of the former heavy poster that I was^^
Thus I'm not sure if Harrison is in battle form or as a civilian When he's transformed he's even less 'discreet' then Fenris.
Since Dustland didn't describe any reaction in the crowd to my tin man I'll suppose he's still a civilian.)

To Javier he declares with a smile "Holly Molly Batman! we could have seen it coming. On the news there were so much mysteries around that building construction that it was obvious Nova Tech would push a movie..."

"Stay sharp guys...those bots seems as touchy as the workmen... I hope Nova tech can handle their own house-dogs... Harming the lower classes would be bad publicity.... "
A dashing blonde suddenly draws his attention.

"Excuse me gentlemen, I just noticed the woman of my dreams...be right back."
Harrison tries to reach his girlfriend trough the crowd

"I think those were clouds captain." answers Nycto smilling. With a more serious voice he says "But you know shadows are all around, for when you need them."

Fenris calls Javier again. "S'up? What are you guys planning to do? I can sit here and watch the show for awhile."

Javier grouses. "What the * would we do? The Poindexter chica is showing off her toys. Unless you want to go down and ask for her autograph, there's nothing for us here. Time to unass the AO."

He's loath to admit an unbidden anticipation for a chance to throw down with someone.

"Relax, chico." Fenris replies annoyed. "I just wanted to know if we were staying, going for pancakes or splitting up. And what the * does 'unass the AO' mean? You lost me."

Javier rolls his shoulders, annoyed at himself for feeling so antsy. "I guess we're done for now," he replies in a more conciliatory tone. "I'll ask the guys here if they have any plans.

"Oh, and it's Army speak. It means 'get our asses outa here'."

Nycto: "And you wouldn't have anything to do with that shootout this morning in the warehouse district either? One of the guys we picked up saw the shadows grab some guys, then a shadowman came in and started pounding people. Don't know anything about that either?"

Volsung: You nimbly slip through the crowd, reaching your girlfriend and startling her with a hug from behind. "Isn't this awesome?" she asks, highly entertained by the spectacle of the construction 'bots. Getting a better look at you, she asks if you've gotten any sleep, a look of concern crossing her face.

Fenris: Over the noise of the crowd, you hear a muffled crunching noise coming from the street below.

Everyone else: You watch Overdrive slip through the crowd then embrace a beautiful young woman as you all debate pancakes or sleep.

If you have danger sense, it lights up like an old Christmas tree!

I assumed you weren't in your "nova form".
