Before anyone thinks I'm trying to be heavy handed with these Mind checks, The Doorman has been described as a kid-genius.

The kid's disguise falls half off his face, hanging at an odd angle over his chin as he jumps back from the image of Fenris.

"What the *, hey, um...calm down dude. Seriously, I'm trying to help..." His voice increases in volume and tone until it's just a squeak.

Looking shaken, The Doorman regains his composure enough to be intelligible. "All I've been able to figure out is that there was an order to the air traffic controllers to clear the skies that night for an hour. I really didn't look into it anymore, I've been busy.

"Why wouldn't I wear a disguise? Look around you Nycto! Someone's taking down Novas and I can't go around whippin' * like you guys, not my thing...

"As to your situation, I know the cops are looking for you guys and if they can, they'll arrest you. If they can't, well, that's what NHSC is for. These guys, they're the first security firm licensed to deal with...us, here in the US.

"So you guys help me, I'll help you. I can dig up info, track the bad guys, and give you the cover to operate. In return, you go beat the * out of the bad guys like you're already doing and you get to stay out of jail. What do ya think?"

Overdrive takes hold of himself again.
"Come on Javy, is that so difficult to believe there's some people sharing our values?
Of course we're in! We can do some good together.Thinks of the groupies and our own branded T-shirts!"
He says, vehemently ,trying to 'defuse the tension'.

"So the NHSC would be the one that bombed us and killed mama B?
Those war heroes, that elite, will deal with the problem by killing blindly with the worship of the country?
And cops would shoot us on sight because we don't own their bloody good guy's badge?
That's f#ckin' brilliant..."
He adds half sardonic , half appalled.

Fenris is skeptical of the kid but is willing to give him a chance. Appearances can be deceiving. "Look kid, let's call it a trial offer. You know what we can do. Why don't you prove what you can do by finding out where that bomb came from that killed Mama B and who were the people responsible. I want to meet them." Fenris finishes with an ironic, malicious grin.

The Doorman looks crushed at Javi's comment; it's obvious the young man thought this would go much smoother. He seems to perk up a bit when Nycto and Overdrive seem a bit more enthusiastic but avoids making eye contact with Fenris again.

"Well, I have contacts in the NSA (National Security Agency). Give me a few hours, I can have you set up in their database, full fledged special agents! I can even get you ids and badges. Local law won't be able to touch you guys and we can get around to cleaning up this mess that novas are creating.

"Tell you what, I'll see what I can find out about the bombing. If my info's good, we're a team, right?"

"Well the normal stuff: a name, address, date of birth, etc. Of course it doesn't have to be yours; once you have a badge and you're in the system, you can be Agent Harry Wolfman and no one will know any better."

The Doorman snorts at his own joke.

The Doorman waves his hand dismissively. "It doesn't matter, make it up, get it from a fortune cookie, whatever. The point is that you'll have credentials and if they run it through the NSA system, it'll show up as being legit."
