The explosion! I almost forgot it!
I also asked several questions about it that Dustland missed.

We can't ignore it whatever we could learn from Nycto's private adventure.(An explosion to the north? Can we estimate the distance more precisely ? There's a neat difference if it happened in a deserted flat land or in the suburb. Moreover, Harrison won't horse around if his own local just exploded.)

Understood, but I would hope Dustland would trust us enough to not use player knowledge in-character.Protheuz wrote:I think one of the reasons is to not give much information.
For instance, I know what was that great explosion you witnessed early in the fight. You could act differently (or not) if you knew.

Fenris's Pancakes at Sarah's Diner.
You walk into the diner, trying not to look too conspicuous but people take note of your passing regardless. As you sit yourself at the last booth in the diner, two men seated at the counter across from you take a long hard look at you, then pick up their plates and move away. You try not to growl.
"What'll you have sug..oh *!" screams the startled waitress as she gets a good look at you. "I'm, a, sorry mister. I just never seen no, you know..." she finishes by pointing her pencil at you. She doesn't realize her gum fell out of her mouth and is now on the floor.
"All you can eat pancakes, glass of milk, and a coffee please," you say to her, trying unsuccessfully to soften your tone.
"Sure, yah, be right back," she says as she scurries off. Suprisingly she returns quickly with you drinks and your first plate of pancakes. "Seriously mister, I didn't mean nothin' by it. Just startled me."
"No problem mam," you mumble between mouthfulls of pancake and milk, waving her away. You can't help but feel eyes staring at your back as the rest of the diner talks about you, but your first real meal in days keeps you in your seat.
You hear the door chime clang as a group of people enter. You don't bother to turn and look until you hear someone yell, "Hey you m***f***'s, this is a robbery! No heroes, no problems, no one gets their face blown off!" You glance back and see four men with guns (3 pistols, 1 shotgun) begin to manhandle the customers, shoving them against the counter and grabbing wallets and purses.
They're just starting to work their way down the line and it will be a moment or two before the criminals get to the end of the diner, over to your booth.....
Fenris slides out of his booth and with preternatural speed, slips behind the man with the shotgun, attempting to grab him:
Fenris Grab (55) vs Criminal w/shotgun (11)
Fenris grabs the man who lets out a startled cry as he is swung like a rag doll at the goon with the pistol standing nearest him.
You swing Mr Shotgun (funny) at Criminal #1...
Fenris' Attack (15) vs Criminal #1 Dodge (9)
A sickening, wet smack sounds throughout the diner as the two men come together brutally. Broken bones and head trauma drop the man with the pistol like a sack of potatoes; Mr Shotgun is equally limp and you toss him to the side with a feral snarl.
Criminal #2 and #3 let out a shocked yell from the end of the counter at the sudden turn of events. Criminal #2 takes aim and fires off a few quick shots from his pistol: Criminal #2 Attack (14)
Your gut wrenches in fear as Criminal #3 grabs a young woman from behind, shielding himself from you with her body, his pistol pressed painfully against her head. "Come any closer and I end her you g** d*** freak!"
Fenris easily dodges the "few quick pistol shots." Fenris crouches down learing at Criminal #3 and growls with a deep rumble. After a dramatic pause, Fenris quietly hisses, "you will not leave this place with her, and you share her fate. If you kill her, I will kill you. If you hurt her, I will hurt you. Let her go and leave here before I get mad." Fenris attempts to intimidate them to do as he says and * their pants.
You see a dark stain appear on the front of Criminal #3's pants and you can smell the urine across the diner. His hand trembles as he tries to hold the gun against his hostage's head.
"Get outa here Tommy," his trembling voice orders the young man who fired the shot at you. He glances at you, back at his partner, and then out the door to a parked van with the side door open.
Without a word he turns and sprints to the van.
"Yah, you take it easy man, ok?" His voice cracks and is barely a whisper as he tries not to look into your feral eyes again. He backs up to the door with the girl, then shoves her roughly towards you, turns, and runs after his partner to the van.
Even before you make it to the door you hear the engine running and see that there is a driver waiting to get his partners out of here.
Fenris catches the girl helping her to her feet and returns her to her dining companions before any revulsion to him can begin. He watches them drive away and sniffs a couple of times to memorize their scents (urine & sweat) for future use.
Fenris leisurely returns to his table. When he passes his waitress he says, "when you have a minute, I would like another plate of pancakes and another cup of coffee. Thanks." When Fenris gets to his table he starts to pick through the remainder of his colder meal and attempts to ignore the stares from everyone.
A few moments pass in silence as the people in the diner try to come to terms with what just transpired. You're munching on cold pancakes when you hear the sound of duct tape being being applied to something in large quantites. Glancing back, you see that the few remaining customers are in the process of taping up the two battered (and still unconscious) robbers, while your waitress is on the phone.
You smell the hot pancakes before you hear her walking back to your table. With a swift move she grabs up your cold plate and replaces it with the freshly cooked pancakes and you notice a generous stack of bacon on the side too. "Can't have our hero eatin' like a vagabond. Name's Sarah," she says as she extends her hand to you in greeting (you notice it is trembling).
You give her a solid shake and mumble a thanks through a mouthful of syrup. "Listen, I just wanted you to know, you're welcome in here anytime mister. This is my place, Sarah's Diner, and you've got a lifetime of pancakes comin' to you. And, um, thanks, you know, for all that." She gestures back to the taped up men.
"I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name," she says. Just then you hear the sound of the sirens coming down the street. Sarah seems to note your worried glance outside. "They gonna be a problem? You can finish up back in the kitchen if you want. We'll tell 'em you up and vanished if you'd like." Glancing back you see the other customers give nods of agreement as the lights turn the corner two blocks away, heading for the diner.
"Thanks, I'll accept your offer for the meal in the kitchen." Fenris gets up grabbing his meal and coffee. "It's probably better that I don't give you a name."
Walking nearer to the taped guys, he says to Sarah and the witnesses within earshot, "if these guys hold-up a diner with guns, they get what they deserve. Thanks for the tape clean-up." Fenris nods to those those armed with tape. "But I wasn't going to chase the others down after they ran. That's just mean. Besides, the cops should have enough to collect them with their two friends in custody and your descriptions."
Getting back in the kitchen alone with Sarah, he continues, "I really appreciate the great meal and... treating me like a human. Both have been a rare commodity for me since the Event." Fenris scarfs down the rest of his meal. "Look. Those guys or their friends may want payback after their abuse here. Take this number," Fenris gives Sarah the phone number of the second mobile that he took from Javier. The team does not have this phone number. "If you have any problems, you call me any time. And I mean any time. I don't have many friends, and I protect the ones I do have... fiercely." He gives her a toothy grin.
With that Fenris grabs the styrofoam cup of coffee that Sarah made for him while he was eating and leaves out the back door.

I need clarification on this. Dustland's entry gave me the impression that the "deep voice" came from the rock creature and not from some other source.Volsung wrote:To Boost and Nestor:
Don't forget the other character. The germanic Master/Invoker/Teammate/Whatever he is.
If that is incorrect, assume Javier simply got it wrong.
