Questions: Mental Area, Push, Immobilize

Post by kevperrine »

Narrated 3rd Issue of BASH!, this time with a different game-gang. Sooooooooooooo, NEW rule QUESTIONS

AREA MENTAL ATTACK
For an Mental Attack type with the AREA enhancement. How does the target defend? Do you always defend with your AGILITY on an Area attack? If so, is there an option in the rules to change that (or any attack really) to a different defending Stat? (in this instance to Mind)

PUSH
Does a target Soak to resist Push efforts (like you would Special Attacks) to lower the Push results?

PUSH
Can an attacker use Push specifically to slam a target into objects. For example: Mister Twister (a weather controller) uses his Push attack to whip a hero into a "cyclone". Everyone is in a small alley. Can Mr. Twister slam the hero into the walls on either side? If so, and he Pushes the hero for a maximum of 110 ft. Does slamming into the walls of the alley deal 110 ft. of "Falling Damage" as a normal Knockback?

IMMOBILIZE
Does an Immobilized target have an Agility score for Defense? Is it reduced for being Immobilized? Or is an Immobilized target effectively a "0" Defense? If so, does that mean the target's Result is "0" or is Agility treated as a "0" meaning the target would get the standard 1d6 roll for Defense for having a "0" Agility?

thanks for clarifications!

Area Mental Attack- can you be more specific about what it is?

Push- No you don't soak. Instead, you automatically resist Brawn x10 feet of knockback. Now, if you get slammed into something, you do get to soak as normal against that damage. So if you take 100' of knockback, with a Brawn of 3, you'd get knocked back 70', which means if you slam into a wall, you'd take x7 damage, which you could soak. Note that some abilities reduce knock-back, such as Tough Style martial arts, and Density Increase.

Yes, you can push people into walls, etc- that is part of the point. But if Mr. Twister did 110' of knockback, the person would certainly take less than that. 10xBrawn feet less at least. After that, it is 1DM per 10' *To A MAXIMUM of x10DM*

Okay. How about IMMOBILIZATION with an Medium Area.

Normally to avoid the original effects, they roll a Defense roll
or Athletics/Acrobatics check. ... If the power is something Mental, or something that cannot be divided, such as Daze or Immobilization, then the attacker makes a single attack roll, and all the targets (or each group of minions) make their own separate defense roll against it.

Now. Is each target in the area making a "normal" Agility based Defense roll (for Immobilize) or is it a Mind Defense roll?

Okay.
That's done. The target IS hit.
AFTER the attack, and the target IS Immobilized - what is the "dazed" target's Defense.
If someone is trying to HIT the Immobilized target:

Is their Agility a "0" (making their Defense "0") and they roll a 1d6 as normal for a "0" score?
OR
Is their end Result Defense a "0" total?
OR
Do they just get a -4 Dice Penalty?

or what?

If the attack is mental, they shouldn't be using Immobilize- which is Physical- they should be using Daze.

I have to look up immobilize later (got to run now, and cannot recall off the top of my head)
