RPG Animated DC Heroes List

Post by Samuraidad »

Found the following EXTENSIVE list of DC supers. I know they are in ICONS stats. But it might be fairly easy to convert (don't know enough about ICONS at all to know). But the pics are worth the price of admission (free!). Here it is: http://icons-truth-justice-and-gaming.w ... Characters

They have B'wana Beast, the Doom Patrol, the animated Teen Titans and more and more!! Never know, might be useful as source material

On further inspection ICONS stats are probably too simple to convert properly. Kind of a cool list though, imho.

Wow! That's real dedication (statting up all those heroes and villains). I agree, great artwork to top it off.

Now if only someone(s) could do the same for Marvel (in BASH format)...

Well.... If it's cool with BASHMAN, and if there's support, I can help start this for BASH! I can make a nice comperable Wiki site for BASH! fans to post all their conversitions and such.

Of course there are dozens "out here" in the forums. But if everyone took time to upload their own we could have something very similar fairly quickly.

Alternatively if a few good folks want to hook up with me, I can organize the project. Setting up the wiki site is easy for me (I've been a Graphic Designer, but more importantly I use Wikis for every campaign I GM).
I'd just need help organizing the builds that are already out there, and uploading them into spots.
Then start a "campaign" to ask folks to make new characters to fill in everything fun!

Any thoughts?

I like where this is heading! Using the BASH archetypes as a baseline, about 80-90% of the work is done in many cases. Flesh out some details and add a cool image... Sounds doable!

Let's make sure it's cool with BASHMAN, then I'll get up a Wiki for us all. I can do this fairly easily and quickly. I'd either work on the base (and have it done/ready for updates by everyone) on Monday-Tuesday is the fan based project-plan is okayed.

As for stats and info... Go ahead and work on anything you can folks. Look at the format of how those ICON folks did it, I'd plan to follow that as a base. So you could upload jpgs of the image of character sheets (like most have done on threads)...
Use ideas that you like from the look of ICONS on how they laid out their character pages, meaning - find COOL pictures! That excites fans!

Get them going and I'll have the base wiki page done in a jiffy at the beginning of the week.

Thanks for the reminder. We really need to get Bashman's ok or nay before before we can proceed.

In the meantime I'll be looking for jpegs etc. :)

BASHMAN has already given his permission for posting published characters, the details are here.

:)

Just PM me an email address and I can send them over.

I forgot to mention that I had started this in this thread and got very very little feedback on it :(

I stopped posting due to what I perceived as lack-of-interest. Perhaps you lads will have better luck than I did :)

Oh ok, cool!

Yeah, I know, not everything has interest when you want it to. Nice builds btw.

Hey AslanC, thanks for linking back to your original thread on this topic! Those are solid-looking renditions of those characters. Rogue, in particular, is challenging one to model.

Did you say there's more?

Plus the BASH forums have probably grown by quite a bit lately. So as more guys get to know the game and are ready to create BASH-ed versions of their favorite Marvel characters, then momentum for this sort of project will build.

I'm looking forward to seeing iconic BASH versions of Captain America, Thor, Spidey, Daredevil, and Wolverine.

Sorry Alsan, I just forgot about it. [There was so much cool stuff appearing on the forum and I was busy creating and posting a number of hero and villain builds.] Those conversions were real awesome!

Back on Topic: Some of the things I really liked about the DC Icons conversions is how they all share the same character sheet format and art style - this really makes the project feel unified.

Another winning aspect is that all the powers are presented in a simple format which would be a winning quality to use with this project as a Marvel BASH conversion would serve to show new (or prospective) purchasers the versatility of this game (“Yeah, BASH UE can do Rogue/Gambit/Ironman/Dr. Strange!"). Too much information and detail on intricate interpretations of the powers might confuse these new people; possibly turning them away from BASH (yeah, this is an extreme scenario that worries me more than it should). On the other hand, very detailed and tweaked powers (via the many Enhancements and Limitations) would really show how capable this system is! This makes me wonder if it would be possible to have the sheet present both a simple and strait-forward power list and an alternate, more detailed (and accurate) descriptions of the character’s powers (though this could ‘up’ the point cost of the character).

Any thoughts?
