I tried it out last night. I had to unlearn my COH habits, so the going has been slow.
The graphics are a bit unimpressive, but that's likely my computer's fault. The block feature is puzzling; I know it's supposed to do something, but I haven't figured out exactly what.
I suppose I'd get more out of the game if I sat down and read through the manual to learn what all the icons mean and what I can do with them. But with only a few days available to play, I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble.

Block lessens the damage you take from attacks. As you level, you'll open up blocks for the different powers that have secondary effects. As an example, the block you can get from the Force tree will replenish your energy while you block.
My in-game handle is TheTower there if any of you guys are on and feel like pairing up. The game is very solo friendly but, in my experience, the scaling with groups in some of the instanced missions is way more fun than charging through by yourself.

Champions Online looks cool. But me too, just too busy. Well that and I'm not sure my computers up to the specs needed.BASHMAN wrote:I'd like to check this out... I really would. But I've got work up to my eyeballs AND have to prep for a convention tomorrow!
PS- BAM! #5 should be coming pretty soon. I've got all the material, now I'm just laying it out.
BAM #5? Sweeeeeeeeeet! What topics will be in that issue?

New disadvantages and advantages! I'll be sure to buy when it comes out. I should have just about enough $$$ by then! (..joke..)
As for the Champions Online: How does the character creation/costuming compare to CoH? Also, is the character build process in the program or is it only available online (via membership)?

I can comment on the costuming aspect, since that was one of the reasons I wanted to play with CO.
Both have features missing in the other. CoH has, I think, a larger variety of pieces (for example, Monstrous Legs) that CO lacks, but CO offers more options in terms of color combinations and textures.
