Sym-Bionic Titan

Post by Samuraidad »

Is anyone else excited about Genndy Tartatovsky's new show Sym-Bionic Titan coming out soon? The show looks incredible! Kind of old skool Mecha vs. Kaiju stuff. Excellent!!!

If you haven't heard of the show yet, it's kind of flown under the radar. Here's a good and short article from WIRED: http://www.wired.com/underwire/2009/03/chung-tartakovk/ And here's some of the art from it:

Kind of reminds me of the artwork from Samurai Jack (not surprising being Tartakovsky) which is all good w/ me.

Looks cool. The logo, and the titan itself to an extent, is reminding me of the Micronauts.

Yeah, Micronaughts! For sure! Boy does that take me back!

And it makes sense, as I watched an exerpt of Genndy's talk at SDCC and he said the show was inspired largely from playing action figures with his son.

I bet that's what they were playing with. The redid the toys a couple of years back, and a lot of them were clear with metal parts on the inside.

I can't wait for the show itself now, it seems like everything that man touches is cartoon gold.

Wow. This has got my attention too. I grew up watching Ultra-Man, Shogun Warriors, and even had a good collection of Micronauts for a short while.
