Finally going to run BASH!

Post by urbwar »

Today they released the list of games for NerdNYC's Recess game day on September 11th. My game made the cut, so I'll be running an adventure featuring the Guardians of Liberty. Still finalizing the adventure details, but they'll be facing both domestic villains and a few * supers. Hopefully it will turn out ok. Wish me luck!

Cool deal. I have to admit that when I first ran a BASH game a few months back I was a bit worried because I rarely GM/DM/whatever and my players can be demanding. However making on the fly decisions with the rules are very easy IMO and I've not yet met a gamer who didn't enjoy the game!

I'm not to worried about running it, except for the 2 year GM-rust I need to shake off. I had the chance to play BASH last Recess, so I got a chance to feel out the game from the players end. I have no clue who is playing (It's set up by Nerdnyc.com, so people choose the game shortly before play time), but I'm sure whomever does play is someone who either likes the game, likes and wants to play, or just wants to try something new. Recess is always fun for all; a few years ago I ran a game for some of my fellow Nerd's children, and while it was rough, it was an interesting experience (plus I got a lot of kudos for doing that, since we don't have as much kid-friendly stuff outside video games/board games). So if I can survive that one, this one shouldn't be too bad!

One thing I've noticed with BASH is that it really lends itself to making the GM comfortable. It's just easy to get things going and there isn't a lot of rule-searching if you have an overly creative player or anything like that so you can spend all your time on the story. That goes a long way in my book.

Good luck and let us know how it goes! :D
