Hello!

Post by Samuraidad »

Hi everyone! Just wanted to say hi. Downloaded BASH UE after listening to the interview on The Game's The Thing and reading Ron Blessing's review. Seems like just the game I've been looking for. That is, a lite'ish system that still has some of the buildability of crunch'ier systems (e.g. M&M, Champions). I was playing M&M but found that I just don't have the time for it. I still like M&M, but again, just to math hevay and cruncy (Holy socks! All those feats!!!). In fact, I'm contemplating using Freedom City and just converting it. But that's another story.

I'm so excited about the ease and feel of BASH. I'm already planning some dastardly chaotic mayhem for my players! Mwahahahhahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!

Btw, LOVE the idea of the Awesome Powers Book. And please DO keep the "awesome" in the name! The idea of random tables and power sets is cool (reminds me of old skool V&V). I'll probably be picking up the adventure for UE and the supplement that highlights the GL-ish corp (sorry can't remember the name right now).

Any how, thanks Chris, for creating this cool game. Count me in for future stuff. Oh, btw, I saw the FB account and became a "fan" but do you have a twitter account?

Excelsior!

Actually it is by Dean Trippe (from his web comic Butterfly). Got it from his download section.http://www.tencentticker.com/butterflycomics/

I love Dean's art work.

Another new BASH-er here. Forum member 106!

I certainly identify with the original poster Samaraidad seems like someone I know... Strange. But I had a similar experience. As much as I love M&M in theory, M&M in practice turned out to be too fragile, too complex, and even too unstable for my tastes.

Enter BASH! Now THIS seems like a great compromise between character flexibility and streamlined playability! Broad selection of powers... Knockback... Collateral damage... Power stunts... All the key elements are there. BASHMAN.... I salute you.

And now I shall go run through a brick wall.

I feel the same way about MnM too! Glad you found this great game as well!

Thanks for the welcome, AslanC and Mr Jupiter! I have recovered from my encounter with said wall. Alas, reading about superpowers does NOT ACTUALLY give one powers.

But I can say that BASH has inspired me to stick with and plan for a genre that I was ready to give up on. I'm looking forward to seeing where this little RPG takes me in the months ahead.

Those who live on brick walls shouldn't throw bricks? Um... nevermind ;)

AH HA!!! Samuraidad! I DO know you.
Father of Folded Steel...
Patriarch of Puncturing...
Wise Man of Wakizashis

Yes. I thought so.

BTW... It's an "Epic Words" site, but "Endless Words" could also be appropriate before we're through! LOL!

Since everyone else is confused, Samuraidad and I live about 50 miles apart, but we hope to get together and play some BASH later this year. So we've started brainstorming some ideas for a supers campaign setting. We are using an Epic Words campaign site to compile ideas. If we get enough good stuff out there, we will certainly be sharing the link with our BASH brethren here.
