Just finished listening to this.
1. Thanks for the review. I may quote that "The Rules Just Disappeared" comment in the future!
2. It was hillarious! I kept laughing throughout. The idea of a character with the power " to hear statues talk" something kinda creepy/cool that I never would have thought of in a million years. Was this a form of Clairvoyance for that character (just curious).

Hi there! This is Todd from the cast, the guy who GM'd the BASH game.
What we actually did was have Reek take Telepathy at 3 points total, with two limitations:
1) He could only talk to statues, and
2) He had no real control over it.
Reek came up with this power himself, then we decided that was the best way to build it. This meant that I, as GM, had a lot of control over his power (which was what he wanted).
In our game, we decided that powers were either genetic or training based. Reek's father was a big superhero from a decade earlier (Bender) who had died while on duty. Reek had inherited his father's telepathic powers, but never learned to use them. Between his father dying and him (Reek's character- Chase) constantly complaining about statues talking to him he was ruled insane and put in the Megapolis Home for Wayward Youth. When the rest of the characters (who knew Bender when he was alive and had some idea of Chase's powers) realized that he could help them figure some things about the villains out, they busted him out of the Home.
The idea was that, at any given time, I could tell Reek that Chase was hearing voices, which tended to compel him to try and find them so he could talk with them. Sometimes they had useful information (statues see lots!) and sometimes they didn't. He could also try and seek statues out if he thought one might have seen something. They tended to want to talk to him all the time (it's lonely being a statue).
So yeah. That was the basic idea of how the power worked. I thought it was pretty clever of Reek.
