BASH! vs. BASH! UE

Post by kevperrine »

So... being new to BASH! I'm seeing ALOT of stuff out there. I've copied notes, saved some PDFs that folks have made, printed some sample characters, looking for character sheets, looking at the BAM magazine... etc...

I'm looking to use everything I can find to help me enjoy BASH UE more...

and now I look and notice that I PROBABLY have alot of BASH and BASH UE mixed up. Is there any easy ways to tell the difference between the two?

Meaning, if I look at a character build - what should JUMP OUT at me to say "that's a BASH-original version, NOT a BASH UE version"

And which magazines and other support things are BASH UE?
Including the neat characters created and PDFed by Bashman and Zenith in forum threads I've found.

Thanks for your help!

Glad you like the Zenith Universe mate, keep an eye out for "Zenith Comics Presents: Public Enemies" next month (if all goes correctly ;) )

As for mags, BASHMAN himself runs a little venture called BAM!

There was a whole discussion on the difference between BASH! (original) and UE here.

As for being able to tell a stat-block apart the biggest giveaway would be Energy Cost being mentioned, or powers with an enhancement called "Reduced EC" or "Reduced Energy Cost" which in BASH! UE is unnecessary. In UE you don't spend energy unless you have a limitation that requires this.

Other differences:
New power category (Intense Training), which includes several new powers like Martial Arts Mastery that didn't exist in the original edition.

Of course there is also ION Guard which is made by Radioactive Ape Designs, a sort of Green Lantern homage.

There is an official BASH! UE Adventure called "Vengeance is Nigh".

BAM! issues 1-3 are Original Edition BASH! (and also Sci-Fi & Fantasy Edition). Issues 4 and on will be for Ultimate Edition.
