Greetings!

Post by Patronus »

Hello All,
I am Patronus and this is my first post on the BASH forums.
I am excited as 'all-get-out' to have found BASH.
As an upper elementary school teacher, I'm always on the lookout for cool stuff to entice my students to read. I plan to add a 'super-herioc' theme to Language Arts this year since many of the kids are already into comics but just don't seem to read much otherwise.

Though I just picked up a copy of BASH yesterday, I already know it's going to be an appealing enticement- "Hey kiddos, guess what you get to do when the work is done?"

The rules look easy to teach/learn, and the layout is oh-so-cool.
I'm looking forward to teaching it to my kids as an option when their work's done, or for indoor recesses.

I took the liberty of making a set of updated character sheets- I took the official one and added 'ghostly' template images (from Fabrica De Herioca) that the kids can draw their characters' costumes on.
Enjoy!

Man I got turned in to the principal for bringing gaming stuff to school when I was a kid. I hope it works to motivate your classes, that's great! I've always wondered why rpgs weren't used more for math and english courses.

Oh and welcome!

Welcome! And I think it is awesome that you are willing and able to bring the game into the classroom, and I hope it works out really well. And please let us know how it is going, anything the forums might be able to do to help, etc.

Thanks everyone!

I'm glad the link works for you Lindharin.

Skree, maybe MediaFire doesn't like your browser-
I double-checked it myself and it works for me as well..

Well, that being said (pondered), I'm really glad to be here.

What a great pair of ideas:

1/ Putting hero outlines on the BASH character sheet.

2/ Gaming in the classroom! (upper elementary grade school was when I discovered gaming - a perfect age!)
