DANG!

Oh well, back to the drawing board...

Alright... I've changed Echo to fit the proper rules for Push, and I've added a picture of her. Hopefully not TOO girlie... she's a glory hound, and the costume is to make her stand out, but at the same time I don't want her to be ridiculed for it.

Bullet - Until real name figured out

Post by -HF-Aardvark892 »

New character!

This one was made by one of my players, and my very good friend, Andy.

BOTTLE-ROCKET

We've created a new Power Enhancement for this character, called "Instant On". This enhancement basically gets rid of the "concentration" limitation. I've allowed this because of the very limiting way in which the power itself works.

Ordinarily, he's a normal person with no powers. He has an armored suit for protection. When it's time for him to spring into action, he literally shoots off to his target. The movement from standing to flying is what "turns on" all of his powers, but when he either hits his target with a body slam or otherwise comes to a stop, all of his powers turn off!

B 2
A 2
M 2
Attribute Costs: 12

Powers:
Forcefield 4 - Limit: only when flying. Enhancement: Instant On
(150 pt. protective field)
Superspeed 5 - Limit: only when flying.
Flight 4 - Limit: only in a straight line.
Boost: Brawn 2 - Limit: only when flying
Armor 1
Total Power Costs: 13

Advantage: Versatile, Instant Change
Disadvantage: Normal, On the Run

Skills:
Athletics/Acrobatics
Stealth/Hiding
Technology/Jury Rig
Streetwise/Gather Info

Total Character Cost: Attributes 12, Powers 13 = 25

um towards the end of force fields description it says
"Note: you cannot attack through a force field,"

you would do better with more armor i think
although im not quit sure what he dose in combat except crash into people , dose punch people as he fly's by ? If he dose not then i don't see what good super-speed is doing him , and if he dose then only in a straight line is crippling .

Well, super speed means he can take three panels per turn, as long as he keeps flying. If the target of a body slam wins and brings him to a halt, that would interrupt the super speed. Otherwise I'd allow him to keep flying and go on to a new panel.

The force field would prevent him from punching someone as he flew by, but I'd allow a body slam. Thematically, it feels appropriate.

But if he wanted the ability to do punches (using momentum to boost his damage, etc.) then for the same price he could get Boost Brawn 3 (Soak) linked to Armor 3, limited to only while flying. That would give him a x8 soak, pretty respectable.

Heck, for 1 extra point put that in a multipower with the force field and he can use either one he wants, depending on the circumstances.

I could suggest "Cannonball" as a name, seems to fit the idea behind the character :)

Body Slams are exactly what this character is designed to do.

He takes off, enabling his forcefield and superspeed, and aims for center-mass. Punches have nothing to do with this...it's all about the body slam!

Once he stops moving, he's gotta keep alert because all of his powers stop moving.

What's really funny is to watch him SHOOT up at an angle into the sky... he stops moving at the apex, and then starts falling. Once he gets his bearings, he aims for his next destination, and SHOOTS towards it.

ZIP.... aaaaaahhhhhhhh ZIP... aaaaaahhhhhh ZIP... aaaahhhhhh

Get it?

Nightfall

Post by -HF-Aardvark892 »

O.R.C.A.'s Arch Enemy,

NIGHTFALL

Image
Image from BASH! Ultimate Edition by Basic Action Games

B 1 A 3 M 2

Powers:
Ghost Form 2 (Oil)
Invisibility 3 (limit: only at night)
Water-Walking (limit: only while in oil form)

Continual Damage (oil suffocation blob) 3 (small burst, close range)
(x3 total damage)
-=LINKED WITH=-
Immobilization 3 (small burst, close range) (difficulty 30 to break free)

Skills:
Escapology/Contortion
Stealth/Move Silently
Computers/Hacking

Advantage: Photographic Memory
Disadvantage: ArchEnemy: O.R.C.A.

Mental Malfunction: Mercenary Assassin in it only for the money!

Total Cost: Attributes 12, Powers 12 = 24
(one Hero point to start)

Nightfall is a corporate assassin, and she's good at her job. She sneaks past defenses as a trickle of oil in the darkness, reforming only when she's close to her target. She envelopes the target with an oily blob, which suffocates and immobilizes them until they are dead.

She is the one responsible for the death of Bobby Lambert's (O.R.C.A.) father, and he is now on the hunt to capture her. She only works for very wealthy corporations.

She's a Villain, so I'm not going to post her back-story here.

Any comments/suggestions?

Thanks!

NOTE: changes made due to new info provided by Lindharin and Gryfn. Thanks to both! I added points to attributes and saved one Hero Point.

Total Cost: 21 (NOTE: One setback per issue!

O.R.C.A. Mini Sub (size 0, like a submersible motorcycle)
B 2 A 1 M 2

Interesting villain, Aardvark, I like it. :)

I think her points are off though. By my count it should be 12, not 17.

Ghost Form (2 pts)
Invis (at night) (2 pts)
Water Walking (1 pt)
Continual Damage 3, Small Burst, Close Range (5 pts)
Linked to Immobilize (+2 pts)

I think you may have been adding the full cost of the immobilization too. The Linked enhancement has caused some confusion. It works like a multipower; you pay for the most expensive power plus the enhancement, and the second cheaper power is "free" (included in the cost of the enhancement).

Lindharin, you're one of the most knowledgable people on these boards, next to Bashman.

However, I think I have to disagree with you on this one.

When you Multi-Power, the reason they don't both cost full is because you can only use one at a time; it's like the second power is a powerstunt of the first one.

With Link, you're using both powers at full power at the same time. Not paying full price for the second linked power lets you basically get another whole power effect for free.

Don't get me wrong. I hope you're right... I could use those extra points; I just think you might be off on this.

Well...

I've read all the linked posts, and it seems I was wrong.

Nightfall has been changed, and reposted.

I assumed something about Link. I had no idea even to question it, therefore I didn't look around for threads about Link... sorry for the wasted space.

Facet

Post by -HF-Aardvark892 »

I presented the forums with a background on a character, and asked for builds to represent her. I got two responses, and of the two I chose one to stick with. The background for the character below was written by me, and the powers, etc. were created by Bashman!

Facet

Image

Brawn 2 Agility 2 Mind 2 (12pts)

Powers: (10pts)
Density Increase 1 [Limitation: Always On] 1pt
Toughness: Boost 3 Brawn for Soak, 3pts
Armor 3 (x8+5 Soak), 3pts
Diamond Fist: Special Attack: +2DM, 2pts
Resistance 1 (Heat, Pressure) 1pt

Advantages Appeal, Unliving (by human standards); Disadvantages: Freak, Age (Young)

Skills: (not completed yet)

Total: 22 Pts

Facet has no knowledge of her home. She rocketed to Earth like a falling star one night sixteen years ago and was found unconscious by a family living nearby. She awoke two days later, screaming in pain and confusion. The family was able to calm her down and eventually communicate with her. Doctors were able to determine that she is a carbon based life form, but to the Nth degree; her body structure is solid diamond. She has no discernable internal structure or organs and although she doesn't appear to require oxygen or any type of sustenance, Facet has taken to imitating breathing to relax people talking to her, and eating (actually, chewing food into small bits and then surreptitiously passing the food into a napkin). She took the name after a question from her adopted sister about how many facets she had.

As you can imagine, she can withstand enormous amounts of physical harm without a mark. She is superhumanly strong, as there are no muscles or tendons to tear or break. No need to eat or breathe lets her continue almost indefinitely. However, she does require some semblance of sleep; approximately two hours a night to, as she puts it, "recharge". She does not seem to have a reliance on the sun, as scientists first thought she might, because she is able to operate day or night without any difference. For whatever reason, her form mimics human although she does not have any discernible genitalia. It's not even known if she can reproduce or how. Out of common decency, she does wear clothes, and can be just as shallow as any other teenage girl about her fashion. Upon closer inspection, her body shows no curved surfaces whatsoever. Her form is much like a computerized three dimensional form; literally thousands of small flat multi-sided shapes fit together like a puzzle and form complex shapes. Her face can create expressions (although they are sometimes hard to see; there is no color to her face other than the same blue). Under clothes, her form seems smooth and rounded like any human.

She is graceful, but only as much as her natural form lends itself to beauty in the eye of the beholder. That is not to imply that she's clumsy, but her manual dexterity, coordination, and agility have been assessed as normal for her... size and apparent age.

Facet is referred to as female because her physical form is that of a healthy teenage girl, albeit one who is solid faceted blue diamond. She hasn't appeared to age in the intervening sixteen years since her appearance on our planet.

Intellectually, she is the equivalent of a very bright young adult. She has had to learn everything in the same way a child is raised. She did not know how to communicate, either in anything resembling a native language or in her adopted parents English. Luckily, feeding and waste disposal weren't part of the equation, but she did have to learn how to crawl and then walk. She has managed to obtain a High School education through home schooling (public school was attempted at first, but she was considered too much of a distraction for other kindergarteners... especially since she was already 4' 8".

Contrary to popular beliefs, Facet has no "superpowers". She cannot fly. She cannot run with superspeed. She cannot float or swim, but she can walk along on the bottom as long as she doesn't sink in; she weighs approximately 300 pounds. However, she is extraordinarily strong, well on the order of magnitude of a professional world-class weight lifter, and she can be shot with a howitzer at point blank range without damage (it'll kick her back quite a few feet, as you can imagine, but she isn't damaged, and reports that she doesn't even "feel" anything.

There have been many instances in her life where she used her unique biology to help save human life. The very first time was when she was two years old (had been on Earth for two years; she considers her "fall" day to be her birth) and the local mini-mart had burst into flame. She simply walked into the market and brought out the owner, one employee, and two customers. Facet actually had to shield the last customer from the building as it collapsed before she could get him out. Since then, she is an active fan of fire and rescue people, and regularly just hangs out at the fire station (some believe she has an interest in a young man that works there). She always rides along on the truck and helps out, although they've had to prevent her from entering some buildings as her weight would make it collapse.

As far as anyone, including Facet, can tell, she is completely invulnerable. Even slamming into the Earth at well over three times the speed of sound left not a scratch on her. She's voluntarily tested her limits against everything they could throw at her short of a nuclear weapon.

No such thing! :) And it's digital, so it isn't even dead trees! Talk about a guilt-free environment... :) Seriously, don't worry about such things. It's one of the things the forum is here for, and we are incredibly lucky that Bashman is available (and willing!) to answer our questions.
