H&I Please Help!!!

Post by SpaceMonkey »

Hi All

I'm running my first ever game of Honor and Intrigue tonight and have stumbled on a rule query I need a really quick answer to.

Do you roll damage before the opponent chooses to Yield Advantage or after? So, would you be able to see the damage result before deciding "Ah, that's not so bad. I'll take the hit" or "Woah! That'll kill me twice. Duck!!"?

Thanks!

I would leave it up to the GM and the style of game they want to run. If you want the Heroes to be less destructable, I'd say roll damage first. If you want them to be more vulnerable, roll damage after the fact.

In my own games we roll damage first and people use this in their decision making about when to Yield or Parry.

This, once again, demonstrates just how good H+I is - the simple decision of whether damage is decided before or after Yielding Advantage can have such an impact on the style of game. H+I really is that good!
