Image

The first of Misfits Studios' releases for the BASH! Ultimate Edition rules, Operation: Marshal Law details the US Marshal Service program intended to integrate super-powered beings into the agency as law enforcement officers.

Within Operation: Marshal Law for BASH! you will find:
  • A US Marshal's field office built using the new Membership advantage found in Awesome Powers 4
  • A template of traits for US Marshal training requirements that must be met to allow your game's characters to join this agency
  • Three ideas for involving the US Marshal Service in your game

Cool Resource

I picked up a copy of this earlier this morning, and read over coffee and a muffin. At five (5) pages (well, 4.5 - there's a colorful .5 ad for the Awesome Powers! series), it's an easily digestible article, with minimal rules impact.

It does reference the Membership Advantage (and Perks) as described in Awesome Powers! vol. 4 (which is stated in the RPGnow description), mainly in describing / outlining a sample local US Marshal's Office. If one didn't have AP! #4, they could probably wing it based on the wording.

The main narrative is about a page, plus the Membership write-up, some minimum requirements for Marshal service, a mention of some equipment, and then three adventure seeds to pull together a group round out the article.

The accompanying "Metahuman Threat Scale" article (about 2 pages) is a nice supporting piece for narrative classification of various, well, metahuman threats. Non-rules based, it could easily be ported into any superhero game, Marshal's office or not.

Overall, I quite liked it. :)
