Glad you like them Chris! Joe has 3 more to color (Eon's troopers, Smash & Grab), but I expect to order more art from him after he does that comic convention these helped him go to.BASHMAN wrote:These are fantastic! Keep them coming!
I realize I never posted a color version of Doctor Dagon. Here he is:

Doctor Dagon is very Cthulhic and the naturalistic armor elements are a great touch. The Black Death looks great. If he is a hero, then he is a perfect homage to the Punisher, who was such a cool vigilante character. The mask of this character really adds an inhuman, almost unsettling, feeling to him; a perfect quality for either a dark vigilante or villain!

Doctor Dagon is actually a Deep One who decides to masquerade as a super villain to cover his plans. I had Joe give him armor that was made of both shark skin and coral. I'm debating whether to have Joe do his servants, which will be other Deeps Ones. Thinking about having them use some kind of organic based weaponry.MrJupiter wrote:Doctor Dagon is very Cthulhic and the naturalistic armor elements are a great touch. The Black Death looks great. Black Death is a villain. He's a modern take on a Golden Age villain. Basically a mercenary/assassin. His mask is based on a paint ball mask Joe owns lol

New artist, new sketches! I contacted an artist named Khairul Hisham. He did all the art for an rpg called Invulnerable, written by my friend Joshua Kubli. Decided to have him do some work for me as well. His first two commissions are a new take on my character Glare, and the armor worn by his evil brother.
Here's his take on Glare:
and his evil brother, Codename: Gloom

Anthony completed the last 2 golden age villains I asked him to do. First up, Mastermind. He can command Electricity and Teleport. He was the enemy of Lash Lightning:
The Mummy, who created a chemical that he treated some wrappings with, that made him invulnerable to regular weapons, and carried a hotlight gun, that could blind people as well as cause damage like a laser:

Thanks for posting more art. Mastermind has the makings of an interesting antagonist but I find that the image doesn’t quite jive properly with me. I think that it may be something in the colours selected for the character because when I view it in a grayscale format it seems fine to me.
My initial thought of the Drac-Men are that the too closely resemble Doctor Dracula. At first glance I thought that it was another picture of the vampiric doctor. Maybe consider reducing the size of their wings a bit (to a half or a third the size) to more significantly indicate their inferior status to their master (unless they need them to fly or something, which would require a different approach).
The Mummy’s rendering is awesome and the green glow-effect looks really cool. The special mummy-wrap makes for a great super power concept that is very unique.
Aufseher, Ingvar Freyrson, and Sigrdrifa look like good sketches and I can’t wait to see further development on them. The inclusion of the spear-wielding god (or possibly a demi-god) is a great feature for the team.
I really like the great styling for the Glare and Gloom pictures by artist Khairul Hisham (especially the pose and added detail put into Gloom).

As an actual comic character, I was going with his actual costume colors. Back then, certain colors didn't work right because techniques were limited back then compared to today. That's why a lot of golden age villains had gaudy looking costumes as opposed to today.MrJupiter wrote:Thanks for posting more art. They do need them to fly with. Richard did their visor differently to make them look different. In the final version, the colors are going to be slightly different (as one will be darker green than the other), but maybe I'll have him change the color of their costumes so they stand out moreMrJupiter wrote: My initial thought of the Drac-Men are that the too closely resemble Doctor Dracula. Yeah, you gotta love some of the origins for villains in Golden Age comics. Totally off the wall, but interestingMrJupiter wrote: The Mummy’s rendering is awesome and the green glow-effect looks really cool. The special mummy-wrap makes for a great super power concept that is very unique.
I haven't fleshed out what he can do just yet. He is a god (or whatever Aesir/Vanir are), just a lesser one. He's stronger than humans, but isn't in Thor's league either. Sigrdrifa is the super strong one, so she'll be stronger than him. Aufseher is a minor super soldier, as he wasn't given the full treatment that another villain has (Ubermensch)MrJupiter wrote: Aufseher, Ingvar Freyrson, and Sigrdrifa look like good sketches and I can’t wait to see further development on them. Yeah, I wanted the detail on Gloom to make him stand out more. The colored version is even betterMrJupiter wrote: I really like the great styling for the Glare and Gloom pictures by artist Khairul Hisham (especially the pose and added detail put into Gloom).
