Thanks Storn! I really like Joe's work.
Speaking of which, here is some new sketches he did for me.
Up first is Doctor Dagon, a Deep One who becomes a "supervillain" during World War 2:
Power Man was another villain my old Champions GM had created, and let me use. He was a superman type, but much like Gladiator and Superboy, his powers were actually more psionic in nature. Joe went with a more Miracle Man look on his logo than was there originally:
and lastly, Joe's take on an image CuMorrig had done for me a few years back. I originally wanted Dustland to do this, but he's been tied up more with writing these day. So here is Joe's take on T'al Z'agoth, the Malevolent Moon:

For Puzzler and Sceptre, it depends on how long it will take to finish Dirty Dozen. Dustland is going to do the Dirty Dozen logo for the cover, and I have another artist (Richard Spake) doing one last piece for the book. He injured himself recently, so it might be awhile before he can start on the piece. I've started putting together character sheets, so it's all a matter of writing the rest of the book (the 2 adventures I want to include, an intro, etc).MrJupiter wrote:Fantastic, fantastic, and more fantastic! I love how the Malevolent Moon turned out. Also, the SCEPTRE rocks! I really enjoy seeing Joe's work. Do you have an eta on product releases for these images?
As for the rest, I can't say. I don't order art for a specific release. I get art done, then as inspiration hits me, I start writing characters out. I hope once The Dirty Dozen is over to do a large villain compilation, but again, don't want to say until I know for certain

It's sort of a take on Miracle Man. Joe has been re-reading them, and ironically, PM's costume does resemble MM's in some ways. The chest logo was different in the original art, but looked somewhat dated. I kind of like the homage to MM in the direction Joe took with this oneMrJupiter wrote:I really like the Power Man logo.
btw, I saw you mention you had contacted him on DeviantArt about a commission; were you able to hook up with him on that?

Yes, I'm having him do a picture of Mr. Jupiter. I can't wait to see how it turns out. If i had some more money, I'd definitely see about having other heroes rendered, but for now that's going to have to wait.urbwar wrote:btw, I saw you mention you had contacted him on DeviantArt about a commission; were you able to hook up with him on that?MrJupiter wrote:I really like the Power Man logo.

I hear you. I look forward to seeing his take on the character. Should be pretty cool.MrJupiter wrote: Yes, I'm having him do a picture of Mr. Jupiter. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Funny enough, this look is an improvement over his original. I was re-reading the story he appeared in, and his look in the issue is different than this (which is what he looks like on the cover)MrJupiter wrote:DOC. DRAC, excellent! Great picture. The mask and cape/batwings look cool. I love seeing the ideas of comic book heroes/villains as vampires; its such a challenge to pull off.
