I will say this though, whenever making a character with Mastery, I 99% give them Telekinesis [Limit: only affects X]. In her case, it'd be Terrakinesis: Telekinesis 5 Limit: Only Affects Rock
So a character with Water Mastery would also get Hydrokinesis, etc.
That sums it up nicely, and in about 1/100 of the text it took in Hero.

The examples that spring to mind first I wrote about earlier in the thread. Although I would really re-emphasize Bashman's example of changing the orientation of gravity to let you walk on the walls / ceiling, etc. I hadn't considered that one, and it could have a lot of uses, from bypassing those nasty traps in the villain's lair through rad dance parties (despite the mandatory playing of "Dancing on the Ceiling" at least once).
I sometimes find it easier to come up with examples in response to a specific situation, rather than out of the blue. Was there an adventure or scene where the player wanted to use Gravity Mastery but couldn't think of a way?

The room is filled with smoke/poison gas/etc. Use Gravity Mastery to create a tiny singularity to pull on the gas, to suck it all together into a harmless blob the size of a baseball.
Because extremely high gravity can create heat, you might use it to allow someone to start a fire, or superheat liquid in a very small area.
Note- if you're affecting just the environment around you- using gravity power to compress stuff is perfectly fine. It's doing it in combat to other characters or structures that they're in, where you're really stepping on the toes of TK where it isn't really fair.
Now I also thought of a VERY useful thing to do with Mastery Powers and that is countering powers that have the same or opposite themes. This is by the RAW, as countering powers in this way is already there- and Mastery powers are ideal for doing this. Burn Cycle showed up in my campaign, and one of the PCs is a fire-controller called Smokescreen. Smokescreen used Fire Mastery to snuff out Burn Cycle's damage aura!

Well the person using Mastery rolls their Level in Mastery or Mind (they choose) vs. the level in the power they are trying to turn off or counter.
So this guy had Damage Aura 4 and Smokescreen had Fire Mastery 3... but he rolled really well, and managed to shut off the dude's fire. Of course, on his turn, Burn Cycle tried to turn it back on (rolling vs. Fire Mastery) and succeeded- but this was an action he did instead of attacking someone else, so we saw this as a successful use of Fire Mastery by Smokescreen.
