An Honor & Intrigue question or three

Post by Baelor »

I am planning to run an H&I scenario in the near future and am letting the players quickstart their character creation by starting with one of the sample characters, then tweaking it a bit if they want to.

Under some of the write-ups, there is a list of Favoured Actions. Is this list just a guide to the sorts of things the character prefers? Do they get a bonus using them? Did they pay points for them?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is just a guideline. There is no bonus for them; the moves were chosen either because they seemed to fit the character concept, the character would have a knack for them based on stats, or they were part of a dueling style the character had.

Favored maneuvers don't cost character points. It is just a "go to" list of easy things to do.

I actually made a spreadsheet with ALL the maneuvers in it, where you just plug in the character's Qualities and Combat Abilities and it tells you your roll for all of them.

Thanks BASHMAN.

I was pretty sure that was the case, but I was afraid I might have missed a reference to favoured actions somewhere.

Looking forward to trying H&I out. I have wanted to ever since it came out.

Thanks again. This will help with the cheat sheets for characters.

None of us have played before. I want to make sure everybody has a personalized quick reference sheet.

Hey Chris. I tried it just now. It shut down my copy of excel. but my machine opened it as a save file. I entered the Qualities and combat stuff and it generated the rest just fine.

We had a great time with our New year's Eve one shot of Honour & Intrigue. The rules were easy for the players to grasp, the characters great fun and evocative of the period, and the adventure went pretty smoothly.

Thanks to BASHMAN for putting out this great little game. Here's hoping it will get some more love. In a few days, I will be posting a pseudo-review and session report on my blog on d-Infinity online, but for now I just wanted to let people know that this game is well worth checking out.

Your non-review Blog post was enjoyable to read. It was a great recap of the struggles that a GM (Narrator) have to go through to help make a new game go down well with your group. Also, your cheat sheet is a great idea.
