First Game...

Post by warrenss2 »

We recently ran our first game of BASH.

It was just a power-armored badguy breaking into an company, that made leading edge electronics, for spare parts (at least that's what the heroes thought he was after). Two heroes trying to stop him. A Martial Artist type and a Flying Blaster type.

LOTS of FUN!

I ran this because I wanted us to get a good grasp of the combat rules (important in a superhero game).

Classic moment was when the Titan (the badguy) threw a forklift at one of the heroes... the hero failed his Defense Roll... only to have the forklift sail passed him and into the true target of the throw. A huge shelf of stored generators behind the hero... which all tumbled down on him. By the time he dug himself out the badguy got away.

Notes: Having to do a Defense and (if you get hit) Soak Roll seems to slow the game down a little bit, but I doubt the game mechanics would work very well if they were a set number like in the minions rules section.

The players loved the little adventure!

I guess Titan is going to be a recurring villain in our games.

PS - Miniatures really make for a great game. Used some old and repainted Heroclix and their accompanying maps. The forklift was represented by one of those rectangular erasers (wrote "forklift" on it. LOL!!

Sweet! Love your use of the "forklift". :)

I also appreciate the pure fun quality of the system. BASH is contagious! And the list of awesome 3pp products continues to grow, which is a great sign.

Good luck with future games, and bringing Titan to justice. :)

Hey, that sounds like a lot of fun Warrenss! How did you work out the forklift's avalanche trapping the player, mechanically? That is a really neat idea. I'm trying to bring in more non-damage combat maneuvers like that in my own campaign.

Yeah Fairytale, this is a great, fun, and accessible system. My group of guys have all fallen in love with it. We've just finished a year of gaming with this system, and none of us are even close to tired of it yet!
