Nullify question.

Nullify question.
My Narrator just used nullify on me, and the rules on nullify could use a little clarification.
The power nullified was based off Teleport 4, but had some advantages on it bringing it up to a 7 point power.
Is the defend roll against nullify x4 or x7?
I had also been forced by plot developments (at the narrators urging I might add) to power stunt Teleport 5 with fewer advantages to get rid of an exploding time portal off my teleport. (Also 7 points, and I had sacrifice 30 hits to get a large enough area affect)
If the answer to the above question was x4, should I get a defence roll of x5 because of the power stunted ability? (both abilities have stopped working off the one nullify)

I assume you mean enhancements brought the power up to a 7 point power. If that is the case, the power "defends" with a x7 multiplier; a 7 point power is a 7 point power, doesn't matter where you spent the 7 points. The power nullified was based off Teleport 4, but had some advantages on it bringing it up to a 7 point power.
That takes care of the x4/x5 question too...
but...
I think this would be a bit of a narrator's call, but I would assume your power should defend at x10, but you lose everything in the multipower if you fail. Also, the power in question is part of a 10 point multi-power.
To me, a multipower means you're really good at one power and using that power, you can perform all these other cool stunts. They aren't really seperate powers, just things you can do with the main power. That is assuming of course that all the powers are thematically linked (which they should be in a multipower imo).
These are all my opinions but at least you have some sort of an answer now

Thanks Dustland,
While I'm inclined to agree with your take on the situation (and will probably play it that way next time I'm the Narrator), Both Narrators I play under differed in their understanding of the rules.
It would be good if BASHman could chime in with his understanding. The wording may need clarifying in a future revision.

I've answered my own question mostly. Found the definition of power level in the rules and it's the basic cost of the power before limitations or enhancements.
Only thing I'm not sure on now is what happens when you nullify a multi-power slot. Can you wipe the whole multi-power with one nullify (where the biggest power defends)?

The power description is pretty specific that you roll your Nullify Factor vs the power you are trying to nullify. You are targeting a specific power. So no, it doesn't wipe out an entire multi-power.Zaratan wrote: Only thing I'm not sure on now is what happens when you nullify a multi-power slot. However, if you use another power from that multi-power, then they can target it with Nullify as well. Until they do though, it has no effect on the other slots

Sorry I'm late to this, but it looks like you got it figured out: Levels = no enhancements or limitations, range, area, etc.
You should get the x5 roll from your example, since you burned resources to raise it that high.
Did your Narrator give you some Hero Points for throwing a Plot Twist at you? That situation really sounds like one.

He first invented a new use for a villian die:
Your Fate is Sealed!
By spending a Villain Dice, the Villain makes a fateful attack destined to change the course of battle for the worse! Heroes cannot use ‘Never Say Die!’ to shrug off the effects of the attack. Their Fate Has Been Sealed! The Hero who’s fate has been sealed receives 3 Hero Points.
So I got the 3 hero points for that.
The nullify was bought with two lots of extra effect, one to make the roll x7, and one to increase the time scale it lasted for beyond a single scene (He still hasn't told me how long it's gone for).
This all felt more forced than if he'd just told me we weren't using teleport to escape and gave me three hero points
