I'd also say hold off on Fantasy till "Legends of Steel" comes out. It will change some things.

Yes! One more reason to pick up Metacreator. Just keeps getting better and better.

Hopefully they will allow the template to be distributed. The BBC can be a bit paranoid about their licenses though.

True, are you over at the unofficially "official" Doctor Who RPG boards?

I have an account but I haven't been thre very much since starting work on the BASH template. I'll probably start lurking there again when I start work on the template for Dr. Who (or if I actually find players for a DW game).

Thanks for the Metacreator template for Bash. I'd forgotten I had the software but have now updated it and started playing around with it again.

Alter Ego just released a new update for Metacreator, 5.0.6. You can get it by using their update downloader program. Make sure to check the "beta" box.

I haven't had time to do a whole lot of work on the template recently but I have been working on a couple of things.

1) I added a continuation page to the character print out so that if you fill up the story box or that character write up is too long it will now flow to a second page.

2) I added a new list object called "Sample powers". It creates a sublist like Multi-Power but doesn't add the powers to the character's total. Useful for adding example sets of powers for characters who can change their powers, like inventors.

Hey Alric!

I'm sorry I've been away for about 2 weeks. I'm a teacher, and this last month or so is HEC-TIC!

Anyway, the updates sound cool. Have you posted the version with these changes yet? I looked over in the download thread, but it seems to be the old version. I'm not being impatient. I'm more than happy to wait. I'm just trying to make sure that I haven't missed anything in my absence.

In the meantime, I've been enjoying the earlier version. Great stuff!

Best,

I am still debating getting this program and checking this out.

It looks like something I would use A LOT! :D

I love Metacreator, I like to try lots of different systems so the ability to create new system templates is a big plus.

Of course creating new templates can get very involved with MC being functionally a full interpreted programming language. The more complex the game the more involved the programming is in Metacreator.

Not yet, I'm still tinkering with the print templates and filters.

So I am looking to buy MetaCreator and was wondering...how large is the file if you purchase to download it? I ask because I am on dial-up. And I don't want to purchase it only to realize it is way to big to download on my connection.

RPGNow lists the file size for Metacreator as 5.82mb. If you get a version with a game system template it will be a few mb larger.
