I have played BASH many times, and with a couple characters, but I'm playing a new character and he needs multi-powers. I suck at creating multi-powers. AslanC suggested I ask you all for help.
Here's who he is and what I got...
Australian-based animal-power summoner. Character background has it magical-ish in origin. 25 point hero. Still have 15 points for powers.
Powers I think would work...
-Super Jump
-Blending/chameleon
-Heightened Senses
-Claws (retractable)
-Gliding
-Water Breathing
-Armour
-Super Strength
-Regeneration
-Limited elongation (snake arms)
I would appreciate any assistance you could offer

I gotta nerd-gush a moment - Awesome that when asking a forum question that the creator of the game responds OK, gush over.
The character idea is sort of a 'call on the power of ____' ie "speed of the mongoose" and activate fleet of foot, as opposed to actually turning into a mongoose.
Can shapeshifting be limited to just import stats and abilities of animals, or must it be to take the shape?
Thanks,
-J

I have a couple of characters made that use shape shifting to acquire special abilities via this power. In fact, the shape shifting power would give you even more flexibility than pre-defining a set of multi-powers. Your character’s arm could become a poisonous Tiger Snake delivering a Continual Damage attack. His lower limbs could turn into kangaroo legs, giving him Super Jump. For a nasty bite attack he could change his mouth into a large crocodile snout for a toothy Special Attack. Fly changing your arms into the wings of a Wedge-Tailed Eagle. As a special effect you create a marsupial pouch to hold stuff.jwc23 wrote:I gotta nerd-gush a moment - Awesome that when asking a forum question that the creator of the game responds OK, gush over.

Note: Your character wouldn’t necessarily have to alter the appearance of his body parts to gain these extra powers via Shape-Shifting. He could summon the spirit of the Eagle and fly like Superman (just maybe not as fast).

Then take the "Normal" disad that when he's not in his "animal power mode" that his stats drop to ordinary levels. This would let you take Brawn 4 Agility 4 to spend some of those points on powers of each individual form.
Great solution!
Question though... other than to represent a theme (normal dude except when "calling" on the spirit) is there a reason (BASHMAN) why you suggest taking the Normal DISAD specifically?
The cost of B4/A4 stats is 16pts, plus the cost of Shapeshifting at 3pts(4-1pt Limitation) comes out to a total of 19pts when the OP said he only had 15pts to spend... It just seems like taking Normal is a HUGE disadvantage (reducing stats to B1/A1) for no benefit to cost.
As noted - I "get" the idea of sticking to a cool concept, but it seems like there should/could be some sort of cost break to build in somehow for losing (essentially) 12pts of character creation points when taking the Normal DISAD to fit the concept.
Any thoughts??
Just curious on the efficiency cost of the build and how folks would handle it.
thanks!

PS.... this power build reminds me of how the old the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends episode "The X-Men Adventure" cartoon (randomly) gave the X-man Thunderbird that exact ability!! very awesome!!

Neither John or his brother James ever had that ability in the comics. hmmm...

If you were to check out the Zenith Comics product, Supervillains, there is a lycanthrope character in there that you might be able to base the powers on.BASHMAN wrote:Have you considered Shape-Shifting <Limit>?
