Depowered Weakness Question

So I have recently been given the chance to be a player instead of a GM (sooo long since this has happened) and I am making my character and I am not sure how to do this;

His helmet is the source of his power and it is activated by a magic word. Would that work to give me a bonus? I don't know.

Also if he is separated from his helmet for 3 pages he loses the powers until he gets the helmet back and reactivate his powers.

How would you do this?

It is a "Source of Power" variant of the Negating weakness. The minutiae of how it works is between you and the Narrator.
