Introducing new players to RPGes

Wondering if you could give a bit of advice. I am trying to introduce my friends to roleplaying and looking for the right system.
Now they oftened shy away from Role Playing because of the complex rules and giant tomes these games usually call core books. So i need a very simple system.
They did play computer RPGs many times and are used to a class based systems, though I usually prefer classless systems, usually in a high fantasy setting. Do you think BASH Fantasy UE can fit the bill?

I hope that it will. It's not out yet, though.

Legends of Steel will be the first item in the BASH! Fantasy line, but there will be a full-blown BASH! Fantasy UE down the line later.

Is Legends of Steel stand-alone? Also how much down the line? :p

If I remember correctly.. Legends of Steel releases around January. So, Bash! Fantasy UE would be sometime after that.
